Because I've just rewatched the movies and am rereading the books. Enter Conan
Conan's dark eyes took in the area around him before giving a nod of his head, for he knew that it was best to avoid incurring the wrath of a being called a mundane. A being that he would normally think of as a wizard of some sort.
"I must admit that this is quite an impressive form of wizardry." Though he is loath to admit to it, whether he is polite or not, Conan still does not trust any form of wizard. Usually with good reason as well. "But know this, oh mage, I shall not remain so docile forever. It would be best to find me something to do, and quick."

And hope he ignores the mask.
"Howdy."

"Hello there, what brings you here to me?"

"You haven't got neighborly folks where you come from?" Sounds like a rough place.
no subject
The world is a hard and unforgiving place. And one that has modeled Conan into the machine before you.

This Conan guy looked like he could rip a horse in half if he had a mind to.
"How about law and order? Any of that?"
no subject
"There are, but most are made only to benefit those who sit on high. Those who would sooner enrich their own coffers sooner than to bring prosperity to their people." Such is the weakness of the so-called "civilized".
no subject
He frowns. "That ain't right, someone ought to do something about that."
no subject
"Men do, then become corrupt as well."

Ah, apologies, it's probably likely that won't make sure sense. It simply might not be magic. Science when suitably advanced appears like magic, simply a science we don't understand.
[Sorry, Reed does ramble a lot.]
*someone else who's actually reading the books? Seriously cool*
"I wish you better luck with your mage, than I've had so far with my own. For though plans have been made for more activity, nothing yet has come if them."
no subject
"What sort of things do you like to do?"
She's hoping he has other ideas besides fighting.

[Well hello there, puny man!]
It was really difficult to find the one's written by Howard too...also got a Sonja.

no subject
Well, that takes her by surprise.
"Oh, pardon me. Who are you then?"
no subject
"And you?"
no subject
"I'm Karla."
And that's all she'll say, because it's the only name she has.
"Is that satisfactory enough to answer my first question?"
no subject
That his idea of happy fun times.
no subject
She just shrugs. She should have expected a response like that. Typical men.
"Ah, well, I suppose that's one thing we have in common. But it certainly won't help your mun find you anything to do."
no subject
no subject
Another shrug.
"Well, nothing's stopping you."
She could use some adventure herself. Her journey gets boring sometimes.
no subject
Something would continue to grumble about until he was able to come across something relatively action oriented.
no subject
"So your world is full of adventures? I wish I could say the same about mine. I could use a few adventures myself."
no subject
"Be careful what you wish for, O wayfarer." It's a warning he gives from healthy experience. "Those who bring us to these places have queer senses of humor, and you might not well like how yours may choose to interpret your... request."

He bellowed out in mighty tone. "For life has gotten dull and I wish for new adventures to be had, both strange and mundane."
no subject
He lifts his eyebrows at the other man's roar, incredulous at first, then can hold it in no longer and laughs, the practiced neutrality dropping away from his face like a mask being thrown aside. "I know not who you are, sir, but I daresay it would have been something to fight alongside you before I became what I am today. If your skill is even half the equal of your swagger, we may have given Apocalypse himself pause!"
He extends one gloved hand in greeting, a gesture he's found to carry reliably enough across cultures. "Men call me Exodus. Well met, stranger."
no subject
Conan looked down at the offered hand and grasped it with his own, his grip strong, firm and one that stated to not challenge him. Many more powerful beings have done so, and many of them have found themselves a new grave by his own hands.

"Cimmeria, eh? I cannot say I've heard of such a nation, though I've see Gauls with a countenance like yours." He motions for the bigger man to walk with him, not being the sort to stand still very long himself and recognizing it in Conan. "I am of France, or rather of her finest city, Paris, though I have not seen it for many years now. Am I to take it it is the same for you, and that is how you came to be here?"
no subject
"And I have not heard of France, or of Paris." Or of Gauls to add to it. As far as he's concerned it's just one of those strange "multiverse" things that are bound to hurt his head sometime down the road. One world is enough for him, but hundreds of thousands? No thank you. "But yes, I believe it to be a similar circumstance."

True that it would require a massive output to transport us to these locations, but I think you might find it is still liable to be scientifically based, sir. In any case, I am Reed Richards of the Fantastic Four. Your accomplishments are well known, Conan.
no subject
Truly? Most do not appear to know of my deeds or accomplishments.
