Yeah, I saw it. We all saw it. Now you're thinkin' it'd be a good idea to bring me out again. Think it's a good opportunity for things to get back the way they were around here.

Lemme tell ya sumthin'. Things are never gonna go back to "the way they were." None of us gonna ever be the way we were. Here, or not? Ain't no changin' thangs. Ain't no time to be holdin' onto the past. Not now. Not when the stakes are so high.

( Rick would just stare on at her. He's seen those who've passed appear before him before, hallucination or whatever it was. To him it felt real as hell and this was no different. Though...

A blink followed by a swallow would push back a feeling of uneasiness he was having – reminders of doubting if he was fit to lead because of conditions that's held him prisoner in his own body. Paralysis...fear...empty.)

...Yeah.

( Friends. Beth was right. Even now she was a comfort and a beacon of hope even if that hope was taken away. Such a damn cruel world it became. But they had to keep going. No matter what. At any cost. )

( He was strong – tried to be – had to be. Though strong it was still hard to fight back tears that wanted to come out. Wanted to feel. )

[She moves to cross her arms over her chest as she looks back at the man they all call leader. She's very well aware by what he means but something else has been weighing on her mind, so she decides to get down to it]

What about this "friend" of yours? Morgan?

( He shifts his weight slightly at the question. It wasn't that it was entirely unexpected, more that he wasn't sure he was ready with an answer. Hell this was all semi-new to him too and to say the least he was a bit unsure given the history.

Rick's arms would cross over his chest as well looking off and in thought. )

Don't think we need to worry bout 'em right now. ( He knew they were at the point of being straight with one another but that didn't hold back a knee-jerk response. A response a leader would give to hope for the best reaction. After all, wasn't worth it call for alarm when there were no fires to put out – yet anyway. )

[She studies him for a moment, keeping her arms crossed over her chest. She didn't know much of this Morgan fellow but Rick seemed to know him and at least there was that much. Still she had a bit of an uneasy feeling, they couldn't dare take any more chances]

Now is better than later. [She was quick to shoot back]

Ya killed Pete, even if ya were given the "ok". If you even wanna call it that. This town is clearly not use to doin what they got too. Your "friend" might be against it too. The mayor is a wreck...

[She stops for a moment before she says the next name]

( Rick's eyes would dart back to Carol while raising a hand to point to the ground - the now. ) Now is not the– ( He starts before his mind jumps to Pete and the whole entirety of that night. His thought flow was interrupted before he could finish what he started to say.

He'd bring his head back to look up as she went on about the town. His mind was going a mile a minute trying to process everything she was saying. A pause, just for a moment as he stood in silence, listening. He'd bring his head back down, draw his lips in and glance to the ground. His weight shifted again getting a little restless at the topic. Rick would rest his hand against his waist at that. )

Pete... ( He'd shake his head trying to hold back the anger he felt at the mere thought of the man. He felt his jaw clench becoming more restless. No...Not now...He had to keep his cool and pull it together. Rick would snap his attention back to Carol as she went on about the mayor and... )

He got what was comin. The mayor...Think she finally gets it. Think they all do now. ( He didn't want to think about Morgan becoming a problem for them. Didn't want to dig up what had happened and their history... ) Like I said, we'll deal with it when the time comes – if it comes.

( He maintains eye contact with her; Takes in the pause between words but can't prepare himself for what she said next.

It felt like a verbal punch to the gut. If he was the lest bit unnerved before this was the thing to really jolt him. He'd give a hard swallow to try to push back the emotions he was feeling. )

...She'll be taken care of.

You know that time is gonna come, Rick. It always does, always will. You've changed, what makes you think he hasn't either ? [She moves a little closer to him, pulling her flower cardigan around herself] This town doesn't trust us. Can't say I blame 'em. These people might try to turn on is quick, even more so what happened between you and Pete.

[ She takes a moment to let her eyes linger along the huge wall that protects them from the outside]

Then we have "them" out there. Tryin to get in and take over...

[She glances over her shoulder slightly having noticed Jessie staying inside her home but her son, Sam has been peeping a bit out the window]

These people aren't going to last long in here, sure as hell ain't gonna last out there. [She glances back at Rick]

These people, the mayor, Jessie ain't your responsabilty to keep safe. Its us or them...just how it is.

[Because she will be damned if she loses another child she was trying to keep safe]
