[Bladewolf's tail flicks back and forth a bit. He talks about his nature as an A.I. mostly because other people were curious about it. Beyond that, he wasn't given to a lot of self-examination. Too many other things going on for him to think too hard about himself.]

Affirmative. I was once known as IF Prototype LQ-84i, but am now known as Wolf, or Bladewolf depending upon whom I am speaking to.

[A quick scan by Bladewolf reveals the XIFF data from Huey's chair, which identifies him as the man who pioneered bipedal robotics.]

You are Doctor Emmerich, correct? The weapons scientist who created the original Metal Gear, ZEKE.

I've never heard of your designation. [There is a subtle shine in his eyes - he's quite interested.] Who is your maker, Wolf?

Yeah! That's me. [He grabs the side of his glasses. Someone's heard of him! ... Wait -] Original? There's more?

That is not surprising. I was created in the year 2015, by a group of scientists in the employ of Tokugawa Heavy Industries, a well-known cybernetics company. They were under orders from The Patriots to create a neuro-AI-driven intelligent weapon.

[Wolf nods, calling up the knowledge he had of the Metal Gear Program throughout the years.]

Affirmative. Your creation of ZEKE will inspire dozens of scientists, including those responsible for my creation, to create several Metal Gears in the future. One of whom is your son, Dr. Hal Emmerich, the creator of Metal Gear REX.

[Bladewolf's response threw so much new information at Huey that he had trouble reacting to all of it.]

[2015? Will inspire?? Several Metal Gears??? My son???? Oh God...]

[He adjusted his glasses, thinking about all of it for a moment.]

When is he born? My son - I mean. [Maybe the A.I. knew?]

I chose that date because it's the start of Voyager I's flyby of Saturn :-D

November 10th, 1980, if my information is correct. I apologize if I have given you more information than you can handle. Knowledge of the future can be...jarring, if one is unprepared for it.

[That was 6 years from now... He wondered if the wolf knew who his mother was. Didn't seem like Bladewolf knew Hal personally so probably not... Oh well.]

What is the future like? Is war still running the world? [Emmerich chuckled hollowly.]

[Bladewolf thinks on the days shortly after his creation, reading the news reports about the dismantling of the government-run PMCs after the fall of "The Patriots", which of course gave rise to the "independent" PMC's like World Marshal. He couldn't necessarily say that the world was better off.]

Unfortunately, yes. While PMC's are no longer being used to create unnecessary conflict, they are nevertheless as prevalent in my time as they were in yours. The initial purpose for my creation was to act as an unmanned weapon of war, but fortunately for me, my creators did not factor in a crucial element in any weapon of war; the capacity for cruelty.

[Bladewolf looks oddly pleased at this. Insofar as a talking robot dog can have any sort of emotional indicators.]

Then you can disobey an order? If you think it's too cruel for you to act out.
