There's a difference between justice and going made with power. Are you certain you know where that line is?

Honestly? I'd say about the time you develop a billion dollar suit of armour to fight crime. I'm quite sure everyone who dons the mantle of a super hero is already mad with power. It's just being the right kind of mad that counts.

Well, unless they're forced into the role because they're no longer good for anything else.

Though I beg to differ. There's bravery, and there's madness. They're not mutually exclusive, but the latter tends to make more people into villains than you might think.

Nothing surprises me any more, my dear. Like Michelangelo's statues, the villain is already inside waiting to be set free. The madness, the truly important insanity we need to make society work- to be a hero, is to defy it! Every day, look inside ourselves and say 'this day is not the day.'

[He talks with his hands the whole time, but goes still and quiet before he adds the last piece.]

I'm not certain I absolutely agree with you on that.

[She was married to Superman, of course. Her sense and ideals of heroism tend to differ. The madness lay with people like Lex Luthor and Toyman, not Superman. Then again, there was also Batman, who thrived in darkness and was possibly a little mad.]

The public are a fickle people. Once fallen, yesterday tends to haunt you. Climbing out of that rubble isn't so simple.

I think about that constantly. The worst tyrants in mankind's history, their power was just people doing what they said and look at the things they did. I have more power in one finger than any of them. Being richer than 99% of the world dissociates me enough...
