Let me fill you in on a little secret.


The Mayans were right about the End of the World, though their instruments were a little off. They weren't entirely sure what kind of "end" they were prophesying, but they were aware that something was going to happen that would change the world forever.

It wasn't a literal end of the world as we know it, but an end to how we talk to one another. The end of communication, the end of our privacy.



Not that you or many others have it. Idly typing away your lives on social networking sites, sharing your personal information on a whim, blissfully unaware that someone is taking note, that someone is watching all that you say and do. All the better to pinpoint you. The fact that you're shocked at major internet providers that will be watching everything you do online is simply ridiculous.



They've always been watching. It's no secret. You've just been too blinded to see the truth.

Being polite has its merits, but not always. I'm not that fond of addressing people that accuse me of being insane.

Then you shouldn't act like it. What do you have to gain from ranting like this? It's already difficult enough to believe.

It's just like an oblivious person to assume that I have something to gain out of it. I'm not doing this because I want something in return.

The government doesn't need a warrant or permission to watch the networks. If they wanted to, they'd do so already. It'd spare the pain of rabble-rousing individualists.

Indeed. It's foolish to think you have control over your privacy. You never did. Especially not on social networking sites.

Privacy is a tyranny in of itself. The way I see it, we're promoting openness, nothing is hidden, nothing is sacred. Embrace it.

That's where you're wrong. The ones who are hidden, the ones who don't want us to learn the truth are pretending to promote transparency, when really, they want to conceal as much from us as they possibly can.
