[She'll sigh.]

I know. It took you about a few months to finally get a newer laptop. It must be taking Gen's mun just as long.

We both know how much I miss him. [Sometimes, so much it hurts.] The good company in the meantime--they'll help me cope until he comes back. I'm sure of it.

Don't be sad, all right? You'll only cause me to feel sad, if you think more about your friend, and him.

You'll see him again. I think soon. (Her confidence on that answer is pretty high considering her own circumstance.)

I'm sure both of them are doing what they can.

[She sighs.] I can't really afford to let myself feel depressed.

I'm probably almost there in getting back to him. I mean, my friend Cloud and I found each other not too long ago.

Maybe Genesis and the others will arrive next. Maybe Nexus is doing something really good for a change--and in this Earth Parallel, it's much safer.

I don't think any of us can afford to feel that way. Not now.

(She nods.) Maybe. There's a good chance. (She frowns at the mention of Nexus. She pities Nexus, but she can't forgive her, not just yet.)

Earth Parallel?

[When Marie frowns, she wonders what about, but her expression soon changes when she's curious about what she means by that certain term.]

I have friends from replicas of Earth. Parallel realities. Earth Parallels... Now I've been in one of my friends' versions for over a month now.

[She smiles a bit.] I'm happy my friend Peter's older brother and I have been getting along so well. I mean--he was the first I found since I first got separated from Cloud and the rest, back home. He's a great guy. Very generous, and kind.

Parallel realities...so, I came from one of them? (She can be rather perceptive sometimes.) I wonder if I can go back, if I wanted to... (Not that she is sure she wants to, she thinks that she really doesn't want to, but if she knew what her options were she would feel better about things. This is the curse of someone who never let herself grow too attached to places or people and it is something she can't easily change.)

Kind? Generous? (Mari might as well be speaking in French, Japanese, or even Gaelic to Marie. People who were "good" might as well be unicorns. There was truly no such thing to her. Though, she would like to believe Kazuma might prove her wrong.) Are you sure?

That sounds about right, yeah. [Mari smiles a little.] I hope you will be able to go back. Nexus can certainly get to be too much, at times.

[Mari clings onto whoever she has left for family, along with the wonderful friends she has in Nathan and Peter's Earth Parallel. She can't bear to face things all by herself.]

[Mari's smile seems warmer as she'll speak fondly of this friend of hers.] He offered me a safe place to stay, since I've never been born in his reality. What's more cool is the fact it's a carnival, with many nice people who can do neat things.

Nathan's funny, and wise, and understands pretty much all the problems I'm going through. [She nods.] Peter's as empathetic and understanding as he is. The Petrelli brothers are both people I can count on.

Guess what? I'm back. [Have a big smile, Mari. He's back and very happy to see you.]

[She'll be hugging you for just over a minute. She's so happy and relieved that her eyes are watering as she does.]

Words wouldn't describe how much I've missed you. It's been real hard for me, not being with you.

[His eyes widen at just how long the hug lasts. He loves you too, Mari.]

Every breath I take is hard for me without you, Mari.

[Eventually, she releases and backs up a bit to see him. Wiping away the few tears she smiles at him.]

I heard how upset you were when I first showed up at my friend Nathan's world... I wasn't feeling well over being apart from everyone myself.

I'm still safe though, surrounded by friends.

Cloud's there too. He just told me that things back home haven't changed for the worst, and I'm glad on that.
