I missed playing this big oaf. (x-posted)
Hey! I'm not an oaf!
[But the way Loz purses his lips out in a way that looks an awful lot like an angry pout sure makes him look like one. The insult seems quickly forgotten, though, and his pout soon transforms into a vicious grin.]
I wanna play.
[Well, I kinda wanted to get some screencaps and make icons--]
You got enough pictures. You said we were gonna play!
[Okay, Loz. Just calm down. I'm sure we can find someone for you to rip to shreds, sheesh.]

[Okay, Loz. Just calm down. I'm sure we can find someone for you to rip to shreds, sheesh.]

I DID THE THING
[Of course he's only teasing, and of course only one of his brothers would be able to tell.]
YOU SURE DID
Shut up! I don't cry--! [Oh god, here comes the pout again; he's trying so hard not to cry. HE JUST MISSES MOM, OKAY.]
...Have an ex-ally of a Sephiroth. I wish my friend who has him is less busy!
WHAT IS THE MEANING OF THIS, PEST?!
I-It's not like she'd send you somewhere without any reason at all, Vertigo! She knows better than to mess with you!
This large lizard (in her standard seven foot size) glowers at Loz. The feminine voice he'd hear in his head sounds quite irritable.]
For a reason I do not know, the fool of a human I regret to made a deal with brings me to you. Whoever you are.
oh my god, i used to love primal rage! this is amazing.
In fact, his eyes are wide with interest like a curious child.] Who're you?
It's amazing I'm now tagging two players who have enjoyed her canon! :D
I also happen to have some FF7 heroes for muses, including Cloud and Tifa... If Cloud-muse wasn't being stubborn, I would have sent him.][Of COURSE she can rip someone to shreds--as well as killing them in other ways; such as acidic venom, impalement by tail blade, and turning enemies to stone.
However, this goddess may choose not to kill them. It all depends on who she meets.]
My name is Vertigo. I do not come from just one world, but many.
[She's not in the least intimidated by this human-like creature... Wait. As soon as she inhales, there's a distinctly familiar scent about this man. There's also something about his cat-like eyes that makes her give him a penetrating stare.] ...Do you happen to know who Sephiroth is? Your scent and resemblance to him is familiar.
[Whether Loz is quick to answer or not, she could just use a portion of her power to look over his memories anyway--and she has absolutely no shame when doing so, without anyone's permission.]
glad to hear it's getting some love!
He genuinely doesn't know how to answer that question, and for once it isn't simply out of his inherent childishness. He opens his mouth, shuts it when he can't decide, then finally opens it again.]
I... I don't know him. But I feel him. [He pauses and taps his skull, as if to imply his presence lingers there. He doesn't understand his existence as a remnant in the same way Kadaj does, but...] He wants the same thing I do, I think...
Mother.

Well, well--it seems she had been wrong. She realizes and understands just why Pest had pointed in him in her direction.
Vertigo doesn't need to psychically peer into the man's consciousness to know who his mother is. She's very certain on that, for her loyal human sorceress she's had for so long knew about this, long before either of them had met Sephiroth.]
Mother... Jenova. [A smirk emerges on her face. The tone in her telepathic voice doesn't sound so irritated anymore.] Yes, I know about her too.
[The way he reacts and answers to her question interests her, and that causes her mind to become more active. Just because that traitor joined sides with the leader of the cyborg pests--this doesn't mean Loz necessarily could be there with him...
She'll be choosy on what to say to him, from this moment on. He may not end up useful in the way she'd really want someone to be, but at least she could have a bit of leverage toward her enemies that seek to do damage onto a world she wants to be queen of--a very unique and powerful world in which could bring anyone from any place, and any time.]
It's a pity he's been so distracted from his initial goals. My accomplice and I once had been privileged to meet him.

You know Mother?!
[There's so much of it that he looks like he could start crying, but for once, he manages not to. He's too hungry for answers. Vertigo said she met Sephiroth, too. That must mean she's on their side, right? But it's that distracted comment that kind of punctures his happy bubble a little bit.]
What d'you mean distracted? Is Mother okay?
no subject
First things first, she must be clear on what she means, and what she'll say to keep him around.]
I have not met your mother. Only Sephiroth... It is he who has strayed from the path of the search.
[That's only part of the truth. From there, she'll just peer into his mind right now--for she can. She can see into his past, the people he's known and interacted with, and indeed, his mission to pursue Jenova.
Loz may feel slightly light-headed, feeling like something brushing over his mind for some fleeting seconds. It's all over in under a minute.]
Ahhh, so, you're one of the remnants I've heard about, from my devoted sorceress. She overheard the stories from that rebellious big brother and a few of his friends. Tales of the world you all came from.

His shoulder slouch a little when Vertigo mentions not actually meeting Mother, only for them to tense in anger over the news of Sephiroth. It's true that he doesn't even know the man, but turning his back on Mother is unacceptable. His lips curl back to bare his teeth, disgusted by the very notion.] Traitor!
[But he doesn't have a chance to yell about it much more, for that faint sensation in his head catches him off guard. He blinks rapidly, like trying to process what just happened. It slowly sinks in when Vertigo begins speaking once more. Did she read his mind? Loz is sufficiently weirded out by it, which is saying a lot, given who he is.] You--? [His mind races for a moment, trying to wrap around all the possible implications.]
D'you think you could help?
no subject
As a matter of fact, he did betray Hannah and I... [There's no mistaking how irritable she "sounds" when speaking of this. Loz could perhaps feel and see the bitterness emitting from the goddess.] We had an alliance. We told him we'd help him locate the Black Materia, and help him succeed to locate your mother. We gave him our word.
He did the very thing that went against us; siding with the cyborgs. Following my nemesis who's so intent on taking what should be mine. Xargin I'm certain doesn't care about your mother!
[Vertigo's reeling him in, telling him what's actually the truth. She doesn't have to lie about any of that.
If Hannah and Vertigo succeeded to aid him in his time line, Loz and his brothers wouldn't have been existed... Well, it's not all that big of a let down anymore. If Vertigo could have all three brothers on her side... Yes, what a delightful idea. The irony to it! Sephiroth, the fool overtaken and destroyed by his own descendants!]
I believe I could help you, Kadaj, and Yazoo. I have the power to travel from world to world, and much more. [Vertigo slowly smirks.] I believe we all could help one another, Loz.

[Places his hand against his cheek.]
Hm, play at what exactly?
no subject
[Otherwise, he probably - most definitely - would. He relaxes when Yazoo moves on, though, and manages to resist crying this time.]
I heard there's a lot'a stuff to do. She promised to help me find you and Kadaj, and then said I could fight all kinds'a people. Said we might even find Mother here.
no subject
And of course, Vertigo is saying everything exactly right to win Loz over: inciting his emotional tendencies when it comes to his Mother and using it to persuade him to see things from her perspective. It's working.]
I dunno who this Xargin guy is, but anyone that doesn't care about Mother is my enemy!
[He knows he's not the leader among his brothers, but... they're not here right now. Would they be mad if he made a decision without them? He hesitates, unsure, as he mulls it over. They'd never side with Sephiroth if it meant he was turning his back on Mother. If Vertigo could help them, they'd surely agree to help her in return. She's offering so much, after all. Decisively, his eyes narrow with a deadly focus, almost a stark contrast to the childishness he's been displaying. He steps forward, back straight, chin lifted: a show of confidence and determination.]
If you help us, we'll help you.
no subject
He is an enemy to both of us, Loz. Xargin interferes into our affairs...and his words about a world without humanity don't seem to concern her. His plans don't concern Hannah and myself either. [It'd be hard not to feel and "sound" at least a little irritated by all this.
At his willing devotion to help her, she seems to believe him, since he without a doubt believes this truth she speaks. The particular way she words it, choosing when to say what, is what has him convinced that she would join forces with the remnants. After all, they had the same allies - the enemy of the enemy being one's friend and all.]
It is agreed then. We shall work together. I've last seen Sephiroth with Xargin in a world known as Nexus. Xargin is nothing more than an unwelcome interloper over there.
I could take you there and show you... Or, I could be patient if you prefer to tell your brothers about all this first.
[Either way, Vertigo's starting to get a little leverage against that frustrating cyborg infestation. It's a pest problem that must be rooted out at the source!
Surely, teaming up with the remnants would be a very good idea on her part to eliminate the threats that wish to destroy this world she wishes to claim for herself. It's much too unique with so much power to exploit, with a handful of potential people to enslave.]
