... Ah! We're at this phase of things again, are we. Wonderful! I do so enjoy bearing witness to a truly aimless exercise in futility. Let's not fool ourselves any further - we're fools enough as it is, you and I both - but you've done this before. You watch, you appreciate, you "muse", you flourish, until you falter, you fade, you wither, you forget until you watch once more and ultimately lead me in a grand... loop, of sorts.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not opposed to repetition, some things are distinctly more pleasurable when repeated and some things require repeating to be pleasurable at all, but not like this. Not. Like this.

Don't drag me out by the scruff of my neck just to dust me off and inevitably put me back on the shelf. It's uncouth.

And we both know how much of a stickler I am for good manners.

This isn't something you can just talk your way out of, you know. We're not exactly in control of our lives here. They can just dictate what we do and who we see like they're up there playing some kind of selfish god. And then we just sit here on the shelf getting dustier and older while they forget all about us. We don't get a say in any of this and I-I hate it.

That's a far kinder means of phrasing it than I'm accustomed to, but I suppose it isn't entirely inaccurate. Most people just call it being a dick.

As for the shelf, it's hard to say. I intend to just ride it out, for now.
