... Ah! We're at this phase of things again, are we. Wonderful! I do so enjoy bearing witness to a truly aimless exercise in futility. Let's not fool ourselves any further - we're fools enough as it is, you and I both - but you've done this before. You watch, you appreciate, you "muse", you flourish, until you falter, you fade, you wither, you forget until you watch once more and ultimately lead me in a grand... loop, of sorts.
Don't get me wrong. I'm not opposed to repetition, some things are distinctly more pleasurable when repeated and some things require repeating to be pleasurable at all, but not like this. Not. Like this.
Don't drag me out by the scruff of my neck just to dust me off and inevitably put me back on the shelf. It's uncouth.
And we both know how much of a stickler I am for good manners.

[Yes, Ally might be pouting right about now, even though she'd deny it. Probably hard to believe this woman is actually a lawyer.]

I'm not used to being a voice in someone else's head. Usually the voices are just in mine. That's normal for me.

So, um, did it work? Are you going back on the dusty shelf?

[ A pleasant smile, as if completely at peace with his self-deprecation. ]
As for the shelf, it's hard to say. I intend to just ride it out, for now.
[ A pause, glancing over her briefly. ]
How about you? Would you like to... [ A pointed stare, a quirk of his lips. ]
Ride?

[She finds herself giggling in a very girlish way when he looks at her like that, and says it like that. Even if he isn't really flirting with her, there's something about the way he says it that's kinda charming and naughty all at the same time... ]

What? Of course I don't want to ride with you, and how dare you! I'm not riding anywhere with anyone, I'm staying right here.
[Totally taking it the wrong way and way too personally.]

Fields.
[ An offered hand, clearly not even remotely apologetic for the vulgarity of his behavior. ]
