horror games though
Is this...really the best you could do?
I've already died. It's not something I want to repeat.
[ He has an aversion to being under constant threat of mutilation or deletion, as does any reasonable navi.
Still doesn't have a choice, though. ]
Kh. Why do I have to put up with this? You really are intolerable. [ That's as good as an expletive coming from him. ]

[Guess who's another navi that died that is also going to the same horror game? Fireman really does not appreciate this either, judging by the tone of his voice.]
no subject
...Though, I'm not sure...
[ He trails off.
After all the time he's spent with his teammates, he's nervous. He's attached - though it'd be like pulling teeth to get him to admit it, even to his operator - and...
He decides not to voice his thoughts, but he's not sure it's such a good thing to have someone he knows there. Fireman dying once, with their inability to do anything about it, was bad enough. ]

Truth be told, he wasn't too sure about Elecman heading off to that place either. It would be cruel and merciless to them, he knew. He could handle it, or so he believed, and he's quite sure Elecman could handle it as well. But that didn't mean he couldn't think of the worst.
Sadly, though, the options were out of his hands, so dwelling on it wouldn't help them any.]
Worried? That's not like you.
no subject
[ He rubs the back of his neck, absentmindedly. It's an indication he picked up from his operator; a nervous tic that's never quite faded, even after Jack ceased to do it. ]
Even with all the knowledge we have, there still isn't much to help. I don't like going in so unprepared. [ He has an analytical mind, an engineer's sense of logic; if he knows how things work, it should be possible to even the odds. But he knows there will be nothing so convenient there. ]
But that's not something you worry about much, I'm sure. [ There's some amusement there. Fireman isn't one to puzzle over these things; he knows that. ]
no subject
[It just makes hesitant and second-guess yourself, and Fireman had never been one to second guess his decisions.]
Do you doubt our ability to handle all the twists and turns they'll throw at us?
[They've died once, and come back to life again after. Was not that proof of their ability to persevere?
If he could smirk at Elecman's quip, he would.]
I leave the worrying and planning to you and Magicman. It's my job to get things done, and done right.
no subject
[ Elecman considers many avenues; it makes him quick to act when he thinks he has enough to go on, but once something goes wrong it's hard to recover.
And just because he's died and come back once doesn't mean he's eager to do it again. ]
Mm. It's not really your thing. All we can really do is concentrate on what's immediately ahead.
[ He's still twitchy, though. He can't really stop himself from worrying. ]
...Though that's easier said than done. [ He's thinking about what could go wrong, even so early. And they won't have the benefit of this conversation, or any knowledge of this place beforehand. ]
no subject
Then think about something else.
[Like what Coloredman would say if he saw Elecman worrying like this.
Not that he'd need to imagine pretty hard because Coloredman was harassing him now.]no subject
...Well, there's things to fight, aren't there?
We'll have to keep a tally.
[ Competitiveness saves the day yet again. ]
no subject
Heh. Go ahead, keep one. You'll be able to count just how many exponents I'm beating you by.
[It was going to be a fierce battle, that was for sure.]
no subject
As if I'll let you stay ahead of me for long. While we're there, I can take that attitude down a peg.
[ Elecman's one to talk. ]
no subject
[Ah, the usual pre-battle shit talking. Never gets old.]
no subject
Don't burn yourself out talking up your own abilities before we've even begun, Fireman.
no subject
What, would it be too shocking for you when it turns out I match up to it?
no subject
[ Competitions with teammates are one of the few things he holds as 'situations he's not allowed to cheat at'. ]
no subject
[He got five in. Beat that, Elecman.]
1/2
2/2
[ The jokes are neverending here. ]
1/3
2/3
3/3 i'm dying
[He's got more than enough ammo to keep going. Bring it on.]
this is either the best or worst thread ive ever contributed to
I can really feel your burning desire to win! Things are really heating up, I have to say. It's almost scorching! If you lost this one, I'm sure you'd be steaming.
But luckily, you don't have to do that, since I'm pretty sure I'm all burnt out. Guess you could say I've met my match...though with the number of puns, I should say I've matched you.
[ If this was at an earlier point in their relationship, he probably would have kept going with even shittier jokes but he's content to leave it at...making a lot of puns and conceding defeat. ]
But thanks. It's really brightened my day.
[ He's such a piece of shit. ]
it is both, and it is not. it's a mystery, but it'll definitely go down in history
[On one hand he's almost disappointed by the admission of defeat, but at the same time he's happy it's the whole thing's managed to cheer Elecman up.]
No problem. I'll always be around to give you a jolt in the right direction.
[Yeah no, he's getting the last word here.]
no subject
[ He's smiling, though, and honestly. Heatman had been nice enough, but ultimately Fireman is irreplaceable. ]
We can only hope that's the case. As for me, I'll keep the fire going.
no subject
[But he's just as happy as Elecman, and it shows through the tone of his voice.]
Good. I wouldn't want you to lose your spark.
no subject
[ they run on shitty puns. the alternative energy source ]
Well, hopefully we won't burn out - or black out - any time soon, even there.
no subject
[The infinite energy source. They'll never run out of juice with all these puns.]
We've got each other's backs. We won't be extinguished -- or have our power lines cut, I promise you that.
[And he means that, despite all the pun usage. He'd protect all his teammates if they were downed.]
no subject
Just don't go running off by yourself. [ Annoyed little huff. ] Sometimes there's things you can't burn through.
no subject
[When it comes to his teammates' safety, he'll do what it takes to protect them from danger.]
no subject
...
He sighs, after a minute. ]
I missed this.
[ Emotional vulnerability? Surely not. ]
no subject
As did I.
[He couldn't be any happier to be back with his operator, and with his teammates.]
no subject
Not!
[Raise your hand if you didn't see that coming. Coloredman is not a reasonable navi.]
You'll come back again; you'll be fine! Hehehe!
[Is he trying to reassure Elecman or rile him up even more? No one knows.]
You're so mean, calling your poor munny intolerable! Think about her feelings!
no subject
[ He'd been disoriented for a while after his revival, and that hadn't been the worst of it. Even thinking about it still makes him feel ill. ]
Kh! She should consider mine, then! She's not my operator; I don't have to care about how she feels!
no subject
[Elecman, you are asking him to envision a future that doesn't end in fun. It doesn't happen.]
Awww, poor, poor Elecman's feelings! So abused, so neglected! Would you like me to give it pets? Kyahahahahaha!
no subject
It takes an impressive amount of self control to not rise to the obvious bait here. ]
Why are you even here, anyway?
no subject
Why can't I be here? Is there a rule saying I can't be here? Well, too bad, I'm gonna be here, whether you like it or not!
[Obviously there's no rule about that, so he gives a more relevant response after.]
Can't I say hi to a teammate? We're teammates, aren't we?
[Coloredman teammates don't usually rub shit into wounds--]
no subject
...Yes, we're teammates. [ Well, they are. Even if Colorman gets on his nerves all the time. ] Though you could have just said hello instead of making fun of me.
[ You are asking far too much. ]
no subject
[Now that's just to mock him. Not that Elecman could have expected otherwise.]
