I'm disappointed by the journal name, dear mun. Gotham Girl? It's so unimaginative. The name could belong to anyone from Batgirl to Harper Row to me. I suppose I should thank you for not going with Spoiled Slaughterer or Butcher Brat, so I will.

The journal name isn't my biggest problem with you, though.

Where do you intend on finding a home for me? There aren't many places out there for what some would say is a hardened criminal. (We both know I'm not one, right? I wanted to cleanse Gotham. The old barbers had it right; sometimes blood needs to be let before the virus is gone.)

You've flipped and flopped enough. I'm a woman of action, and I'm tired of waiting for something to do. Get to it, or I'll turn my knives on you next.

Though it's true. I am a Gotham girl, through and through. The city made me who I am today, after all.

You realize that's actually part of the definition of crazy, right?

Oh, I know. I'm acutely aware that my style of vigilanteism is darker than most. But I'm no Joker. Every decision I make, every life I take, I know precisely what their consequences could be.

But I'm doing it for the betterment of Gotham. If that's crazy, then..fine.

But it's no crazier than putting on a costume to stop the criminals that Gotham's infected with.

I'm pretty sure premeditated mass murder is a little worse than vigilante criminal assault.

A tiny bit. A smidge. An iota.

Either way, lives are harmed.

It's not murder. It's a necessary sacrifice.

Sacrifice is giving up of one's self to improve the lives of a larger group. You're not giving up anything, you're just taking other people's lives away from them.

I never said it was a personal sacrifice. It's a blood sacrifice.

They can be necessary, I think. I mean, not every hero operates the same way.
