[Nothing breaks Bobby's heart more than an old man crying. In fact, it brings him to the verge of tears as well, before he hastily shakes it off again.]

[Blaise gets a grin with an edge to it.]

Now, that wouldn't do, would it? Imagine what everyone else would say if they saw you crying, y'know?

[Bobby will counter that grin with a dopey one of his own.] No kidding! I wouldn't be setting the right example at all! A homicide detective's supposed to be confident and strong, so people will place their faith in them.

[Nevermind that he bursts into tears over various injustices all the time.]

[...Blaise doesn't want to stop here. He wants to see this detective SWIRM. He gets out his lighter, flicks it on, and idly begins waving it about.]

It even has a chance to make the papers. "Homicide Detective seen crying his eyes out like a wimp". That would be terrible.

[Bobby's eyes follow that lighter as Blaise waves it about. He seems almost captivated by it for a few seconds. Then the words really sink in and the grin is wiped straight off his face.]

... Hah? You really think something like that would make the papers?

[Blaise grins again.]

It could, it could, y'know? Who knows where aspiring journalists are hiding? Why, even one could be behind you!

Well, it's basically like you said; it's a place to meet others. Everyone here has a mun, just like you. It's our muns who drop us off here and force us to, uh... Mingle, so to speak. We can try to complain about it, but in my experience, it doesn't accomplish anything.

Uh huh. Uh huh. And what happens if they... disappear?

Theoretically, the existence that we have here would cease to be and we'd be back home as if nothing happened. But don't you think that's sad? Nobody deserves to just disappear. I know for a fact my mun is a young woman with far too much time on her hands and her whole life ahead of her. She could become a superhero. Or an astronaut!

[Or just simply... cease to exist. Blaise is already going over some possible methods to accomplish such a thing.]

Surely a homicide detective must miss doing his job every once in a while, y'see?

Sure, I like bringing criminals to justice, but there wouldn't be a need for that if injustice didn't happen in the first place! It's better to prevent than to fix, y'see? [...Dammit, now Blaise has got Bobby saying it.]
