Not like there’s much of anything I can do about it from here, but you know me, I gotta ask anyway. Think I know the problem, though. Got some free advice for you, too. Don’t have to take it, but couldn’t hurt, right? Far as I know, anyway.

Let’s just see where this whole thing goes before you start tearin’ yourself up over it. That kinda stress ain’t too good for your health, and trust me, I should know. You’ve probably heard enough pep talks from the folks who’ve come through here to wanna tie on another, so I’ll do you a favor and keep this one short.

Start chippin’ away at this mess, and sooner or later you’ll hit pay dirt. Just gotta keep digging 'til you get there, that’s all.

[ruefully,] I kinda wish mine would listen to that kind of advice. I, uh... wish you luck in getting through to yours. I could talk all day about how slim the chances are, but... y'know. Lots of other people have said it before, and anyway, it's not like people like us aren't used to these kinds of odds.

You get a lot of training in beating the odds out here, what else can I say? And anyway, if you're gonna try and win a jackpot, only way to go's to play for it first. They don't just hand those out on the corner every day, y'know.
