Well? I hope you are happy with what you saw, yet I do not believe in wishful thinking like you do. The Hobbit had no right to take what was not his to take in the first place. You know this. All the gold and jewels belong in Erebor; not to be taken by any Man or Elf. [He will now be grumbling.]
So, you were pleased with the film? At least you did not mention anything about the ridiculous relationship you think I have with the Halfling. Bilbo is nothing but a burglar. He has his uses. I will not say anymore on the matter.

[Well, someone's a bit offended.
He was fairly certain you were over this particular little phase, Thorin. And given all that had happened...
And yet, here you are, acting the same.]
oh, Bilbo I'm sorry XD
Why did you seek to give the Arkenstone to Men instead of to me? I trusted you, Halfling, yet you defy our very friendship by doing such a thing. [It stills hurts him too.]
Cx
Because that stone drove you mad, Thorin! Because you were setting yourself and your kin up for death and I was not about to stand by and let you! None could reason with you, though they tried, and you were nothing but obsessed with need for that stone and your riches.
[He draws back, glaring at the king but it's a weak glare because Gods does he feel like he failed you in the end, Thorin.]
You were well on your way to being no better than your father and his before him.
no subject
It did not drive me mad. The stone and gold all belong to my family and heirs. It is our right to have such riches, since it was cruelly taken from us by Smaug. You would not understand how important that gold was to us, since you are not a dwarf. [You didn't fail him, Bilbo. He's just too blind to see it.]
I am far better than my grand-father and my father. Do not lecture me.
no subject
The hobbit lets out a frustrated sound, turning away and throwing his hands up.]
Save me from the stubbornness of dwarves.
[His arms drop and he turns again, glaring at the king.]
Even now you are still lost in the sickness, Thorin! You are not the dwarf I followed away from the Shire nor are you the dwarf that your comrades--your kin--put their faith into.
no subject
I am not sick! [His words came out harsher than he meant. He was angry, upset and confused all at the same time. Greed and jealousy mixed with pain and wanting at the same time.]
You- it's- you don't understand. You can't understand. I always have faith in my kin. Always! Kili, Fili....they- they're my nephews and I love them dearly, yet I also love my kingdom dearly also. No one shall take it from me! [He felt a huge weight fall upon his shoulders, as he slumped onto a nearby wall. What was this new feeling he was feeling? Shame? Perhaps.]
no subject
[His anger seeped away as he watched the other, taking note of the conflicting emotions that were strangling the king from the inside out. It tore at Bilbo and he found himself taking a few steps closer, starting to reach out only to pause, drawing his hand back.]
Your love for your kin and kingdom has never been something I questioned, Thorin, but your intentions as of late? Those, I question. You are consumed by the treasure and the Arkenstone, so much so that you have lost sight of those things that mattered to you before.
[The hobbit's voice is soft in an attempt to keep the other calm and hopefully reassure him.
He knows you're in there, Thorin. He's not giving up.]
No one is going to take your home from you but you have to fight this madness.
no subject
Could he? Could he just give up on the Arkenstone and the gold to be his past self once more? How much would he be losing? He looked up at Bilbo and shot him a piercing gaze.]
Perhaps, you speak the truth, yet I do not wish to lose my kingdom to the likes of elves and men. My kin matter to me more than gold and stones, yet I came all this way to-
[His voice cracked and he buried his face in his palms. Was he now sobbing? This was rather embarassing and non-dwarflike.]
no subject
Thorin...this kingdom is yours, is your birthright and none will question that. But keeping it does not mean hoarding gold like a dragon and not assisting the land around your kingdom. How are you to make Erebor flourish without a trade city? How can you protect it, truly, without allies? Both elves and men will stand by you if you give them reason to.
[He knows you have it in you, Thorin. You can do this.]
no subject
Nay, the elves will never aid us. They are pathetic worms, who run away at the first sign of battle. [Sorry Bilbo but his love of elves is less than good.]
Erebor deserves to flourish once more and become the proud city it once was. The bowman seems to think he can dump his people within my city without even asking me. That, I cannot abide. Yet, your words have reason behind them.
[He placed a strong arm on Bilbo's shoulder.] Forgive me. I fear losing myself in the gold.....it feels like I cannot let go, even though I want to.
no subject
A soft smile touches his lips when the arm settles on his shoulder and he let's out a breath of relief.]
You can, I know you can, Thorin. You are very strong willed, that I know for certain. You just need to be willing to let go, willing to move forward for yourself and your kingdom.
[You can do this, Thorin. He knows you can.]
no subject
Will you not mention this to any of the others. I would not wish them to see me as a weak king, crying over such matters. [Because crying wasn't king like at all.]
There is something I would wish of you, Bilbo. I may need help letting go.....letting go of the gold and trying to push past this sickness. Can you help me do this?
no subject
[Silly, dwarf. Of course he'll keep your secret.
His partially amused expression melts into genuine curiosity at the other's request, eyes narrow some as his head tilts.]
Of course. It would be my pleasure to do whatever I can to help, Thorin. Just tell me what it is you need and I will do what I can.
no subject
Tis not an easy task for me to ask such a thing from you. Most dwarf kings would keep their business to their own, yet we have been through many a battle together, and you are my friend.
[You're his friend, Bilbo. A good one. Some might think even more than such but that is a secret.]
I do not wish to let myself sink into the myre of gold, never to be seen again. Fighting is something that burns in every dwarf's heart and that is what I need to do. Fight the sickness. Could you perhaps keep my mind from straying?
no subject
[Despite everything, he's never seen you as anything less than a friend.]
I would be happy too, though I am not entirely sure how a hobbit such as myself could assist with something like that. We don't exactly share hobbies or anything of that sort. I daresay the idea of you gardening is a rather hilarious but unlikely one. So by what means do you wish me to keep you from straying?
i can think of "ways" Bilbo can keep Thorin's mind occupied :P
Nay, tis not a hobby for a dwarf. I enjoy hammering metal and feeling the hot breath of a forge over my face. [He's so manly, Bilbo. Does it bother you?]
/snickersnorts all over the place
A soft huff escapes him and he playfully rolls his eyes.]
Right, of course. How dare I suggest something so tame in comparison.
[He's fighting his smile down as he says it but it's hard.
And bother him? Hah! Hardly. It's actually a pretty nice mental image..]
Re: /such a mental image XD
We also enjoy a good head-butt now and then. Between friends.
Indeed~ Cx
[He says it in a way that makes it clear he knows Thorin probably wouldn't. But hey, it's fun to tease anyway--
Oh no.]
Ah--yes, well, as lovely as that sounds I believe that should be saved for dwarf friends, please.

Well, hobbits are rather fond of gardening and all things that grow. I'm rather fond of reading and writing, after all this adventure of ours would make quite the book.
[A pause before he focuses on Thorin and smiles.]
We hobbits are known for throwing quite the party too, when the occasion calls for it.
no subject
Aye, you are. We dwarves can throw a good party too. More of a feast than a party though.
no subject
[Bilbo can't help but flush some and he promptly clears his throat, adjusting his vest a bit.]
Ah, you must experience a party in the Shire sometime then! Especially if Gandalf is popping in for a visit. I promise it will be a great experience.
no subject
Aye. If there is food and drink available you can guarantee there will be dwarves. What about our adventure now? Where shall we go and what shall we do? [He wanted to know if Bilbo was up to adventuring once more.]
no subject
...Maybe one day he'll find the courage to admit he finds you handsome though, Thorin.]
I..Well, I have to admit I had not considered the options. There is so much to see, that I want to see, that I am not entirely sure where to begin, Master Dwarf~
/is happy to see your Fili at the Ruby Test Drive meme/
Perhaps, we should explore where our hearts tell us. I believe a chair lies within Erebor that could suit you, Master Baggins. What say you to a life with my kin beaneath the mountain?
C: C: <3
[Because that..that's quite a hefty offer, especially to a hobbit of all creatures.]
no subject
Tis just an offer for you to stay within the walls of Erebor, Master Baggins. You are our burglar, so a place within the halls for a brave Halfling warrior befits you no less.
