I'm pleased to meet you for the first time, Miss Mundane... but you've brought me to a place like this at a bad time. I know you're concerned, but I'm sure that things will work out for all of us. Yes.. I have to believe that, for the sake of my friends and myself, we will continue living, and see our mission through.

[ She mentally sighs with relief. She really wondered about him sometimes. More now than before, since they began traveling together. ]

You shouldn't. A bow would keep you at least a little out of the world of battle. Using a sword means you get to see the life fade from a person's eyes. That is something that breaks many people.

[But he knows her intent is right. He doesn't have to like it.]
