They refuse to do anything until their New Years wish is completed.

No they don't care if it's January.

They want to fly a kite.

And they're going to stand here with their arms crossed and look grumpy until someone helps them achieve their kite related goals.]

[No one wants to fly kites with them. They point to their dirt drawing of a kite mournfully.

Please, they want to fly a kite!]

Well I can make you one if that's what you want? [ANYTHING TO AVOID GOING TO WORK]

[Yes, they can agree to that. They bounce up and down excitedly, trying to grab at his hands and take him along to make kites.

Yaaaaaaaaaaaaay no work ever]

Heh I can walk over, don't worry! Kinda reminds me of the paper dolls the kids make at the Pizzeria. [Phil follows the man over ]

[Well they aren't letting go of his hand. They keep a nice grip on it as they start sorting through various supplies, cloth for the kite and tail, dowels for the structure, string, so on and so forth]

Whoa you have a strong grip there man! [he became a little nervous, having a sudden flashback] E-easy!

[It's common for people to hold hands where they're from, mostly men holding hands with other men.

So when poor Phil starts to panic, they let go immediately and look very concerned, hovering around him nervously with hands delicately lighting on his chest and shoulders.

What? What did they do?]

J-Just a moment, gotta get my bearings.

[Well he'll get all the moments he likes, they back off a few feet and wring their hands nervously]

[Phil had to take a few deep breaths to recover from the flashbacks then smile] I'm good now..

[They don't come closer or smile back, just continuing to look nervous and worried from waaaay over there.

No they scared you it's not okay]

H-hey Tahir, i-it's okay! I just remembered some bad things, I'm okay! See! [he offerened] Come on! L-Let's go make and fly a kite!

[They hesitate heavily, staring at him nervously and wringing their hands as if he might scream and run for the hills. Once they're almost entirely sure that he won't run away from them, they slowly move back to his side, nodding slowly]

I just have really bad memories, okay? [he breathed in and out until he was back and began constructing the kike]

[Apparently, and they weren't about to ask about them. They just fussed with the dowels, looking properly ashamed of themselves for having scared another human like that]

Wanna make a tail for it? [he was slowly but surely coming back to his usual self]

[They nod a little, holding up some colorful lines of cloth for the tail. Not too heavy, and quite bright]

[Phil sets out to attach the tail for the kite and rolled his shoulders] That should do it! You're all ready to fly!

[They're starting to cheer up again, taking their kite and the string and bouncing around happily. Yaaaaaay gonna fly a kiiiite.

For a moment they reach out to take his hand again-

Then freeze... and pull their hand back quickly, reconsidering. Right... Um...

They gesture in an outdoorsish direction]

[It took Phil a second then held out his hand to Tahir] Take me to the spot, I'm good!

[They hesitate for several seconds, before carefully taking his hand in theirs. Very gently]

[Phil grins at the gentle grab] See all good!

[Not that they're very strong anyway, they're pretty much just as physically powerful as your average skinny tall nerd.

They head for the door, giving Phil every opportunity to pull his hand away]

All right where do we fly this sucker? [he tried to spot a nice wind for him]
