Saw the trailer for the 19th Detective Conan Movie

I don't get it. Why was Kaito Kid acting that way? Kid didn't seem so scary the other times I've seen him. He went out of his way to protect Genta and the rest of us, so why would he hurt Ran or Conan?!

[You can't trust everything you watch, especially movie trailers.]

But I'm worried about Conan! Will he be okay?!

[...I'm sure he won't get into any more trouble than he does in most movies. (Which really isn't saying much).]

Of course I'll be fine. [Conan would hardly give any other answer.]

As for Kid, that guy is a criminal you know. [Conan was highly suspicious of the trailer. Kid may be a criminal, but that seemed more than a little out of character. There had to be more to it.]

Conan! [She's so glad to see him, Ayumi runs over and gives him a big hug. It only lasts a few seconds though, since she still has more questions for him.] Are you sure? What about Ran though?

I know that, but... don't you think it's odd? He may be a criminal and a thief, but I've never heard of him hurting anyone.

He keeps having those stupid heists and embarrassing Dad! He even tried to steal the clock tower. I don't get what Kaito sees in him, he's just a flashy criminal.
