One last hurrah for
luceti's endgame.
W-Well. This is...um. Yes.
[Giles takes off his glasses to clean, just to give himself another couple of seconds to collect his scattered thoughts. It doesn't work. Especially since mun is in much the same boat.] I suppose this is for the best, isn't it? [He doesn't sound like he entirely believes it, though.] Everyone can get to go home, those who haven't already. Or, um, elsewhere, as you have so generously arranged for me.
At least...at least it looks like I won't be the only one suddenly tossed back in. There are some people that it will be, um, very nice to see again, that neither of us ever would have otherwise. Old friends, and all that. I never had quite as many as I did there. [He musters up a smile. It's not entirely sad.
Especially since both muse and mun have a decision to make. Specifically, as Giles slides his glasses primly back up his face:] And no, since you're wondering, I'm not sure which alternative I prefer. On the one hand, getting to reassure everyone who knew what happened...well, before that I, um, will be all right. On the other...
...well, dealing with the inevitable mockery when they see the state I had to find myself in as a result.
[But Giles, you make such an adorable twelve year old.]
Of course, there must be a great deal that I've missed. But I've always had a talent for thinking on my feet.

[Especially when they see how much it irritates him, because Giles makes an especially adorable irritated twelve year old.]
...it wasn't my idea, for what it's worth. No one actually bothered to consult me. [He's happy to be alive, of course. It's better than the alternative. But, the point stands.]
