Canon is "Monster." Who in their right mind would enable him?
The whole world, swallowed by darkness. And I'm the only one to survive it, to end up in a place like that?
My... fate has such a strange sense of humor, doesn't it?
My... fate has such a strange sense of humor, doesn't it?

I would, apparently. I've never pulled out this character or AU version before, so I apologize-
[Upon hearing that, most normal people probably would have looked worried, puzzled, or even confused as to why this-honestly-beautiful man thought that his fate was humorous, even if the humor in question was undoubtedly strange. While Lain was intrigued and puzzled, none of that showed on her face. As she thought about why this person might think his fate-or, at least, his possible fate, since his Mundane hadn't planned anything-had a strange sense of humor, she remained silent, and no emotion showed on her face.
Did this man like being alone, without anyone else in the world to bother him? Did the humor come from the game giving him what he wanted, only to quickly take it away? It was possible..but Lain couldn't quite understand why this person would want to be by himself. It was nice to be in places that weren't too crowded and noisy, but..complete disconnection and alienation was terrifying to her.
So, after a few moments, Lain would speak up in a quiet voice.]
I..don't think that fate's humorous.

Why is that? Did fate slight you, as well?
And then school kicked me in the rear. ><;
While a normal person might have shook their head or shown confusion on their face, Lain just looked a little more..withdrawn and distant, almost sad as she spoke. She wasn't actively trying to hide her emotions-her emotional range was simply stunted and immature, which made it even more difficult for her to avoid her greatest fear.]
No..I'm not alone, and my world hasn't been eaten.
[At least, she didn't think it had. Philosophically speaking, if the world was gobbled up by something and then perfectly remade, how would anyone know what happened?]
But that fate's really lonely. I don't see why it's humorous.
