homeless and looking, but apprehensive of season finale
Stop thinkin' it's "cool" or whatever the hell words you use inside that head o'yours, 'cause it ain't. Your timing's screwed all to hell; you've got one day to go and this season's all done then, but you couldn't wait that long to set me up in here?
You're fuckin' dumb, is what you are. Anyone could die at any time, I tell you, any damn one of us; there's no guarantees. There's no "safe". Get that through your head, kid.

I loved your Daryl so much I had to make a Rick account to tag him with /:
[there's a brief pause and he glances at something over Daryl's shoulder, something not really there but he's focusing on it nonetheless, maybe something he's imagining, or something he hopes for. Then he looks back at Daryl, an intensity on his face]
Let's not talk like that. We're gonna make it out of this. Nobody's going to give up, you hear me?
[he may be a man who just killed his best friend, but he's also a man who can't afford to let hope die]
I have the silliest grin on my face now, thank you. <3
[It's alright now - and then it's tomorrow and they'll be losing people left and right again. Dale was right, and he was right too - but now if they were broken before, then what are they now?]
You say that now and then you forget. It ain't about givin' up no more, Sheriff, and it's a damn sad world when I get to be a voice o'reason around here.
you're welcome <3 :'D
[a pause, and for a moment he remembers what happened with Shane and his expression clouds over briefly. He can't even imagine what Daryl is going to say about THAT. And he still doesn't know where Randall is or what's going to happen. But he can't lose face. Not now. Not like this]
People are gonna die, you're right, it's not something we can change now. But we don't have to think about it. If don't keep thinking that we'll make it through, then there's no reason to even try.
We've got few enough reasons as it is, Daryl.

Not with all the goddamn drama surrounding Shane and Rick and Lori, it wasn't.
Rick's coming from a good place, Daryl gets that. But it doesn't make him as sharp as he should, and maybe it's because he won't.]
That list's gonna keep getting shorter, you know that too. I'm just sayin'.
I'm sorry this is so late! ;-;
[Rick's voice raises in intensity at that, as though he's trying to convince himself as well as Daryl that it's true, that it could be true, even that it just used to be true. He's clinging desperately to that bit of hope and letting it escape... would mean the end of everything he knows now]
We can just keep trying... keep finding reasons to hang on. I know it's... we're in a world now where things we care about are gonna keep disappearing around us, I know that. But we can find new things to try for... new reasons.
There's always something.

[Yeah no, okay, but you? There's a crossbow aimed at your face faster than you can say "walker".]
What the hell. 'Sup with your face.
no subject
Rot doesn't exactly make you beautiful.
no subject
And walkers don't talk. [He'll save his personal wince for actually saying that for later.]
no subject
What the hell is a walker?
no subject
The hell are you?
no subject
I'm dead. That can't be a surprise to you.
[After all, his lower left arm is just bones and gnawed-off flesh before the hand, and he has a hole in his side big enough to stick your head into.]
I'm a Forsaken. You living call us zombies and undead.
no subject
And see, that's the thing, right - you're dead, you're a geek. Except geeks don't talk, to say the very least. Defeats the whole "very limited brain activity" point, you know?]
Zombie, that's a new one. [He's not dropping the crosshairs, though.] What makes you different?
no subject
Hey, there's enough of intelligent dead people in his world to be considered a species. Even if they have the brain-eating normal dead guys too.]
Willpower to break free.

[His face is all blank, but you can probably tell what he thinks about that.
Sophia.
He could've done more.]
no subject
[he thinks it every night. blames himself he never saw the signs of her being brought back to the farm, it's just another failing]
no subject
How are you here?
[It's like Dale's throwing his words back at him, when he thinks about it - he didn't see it because he didn't want to.
It was more than just about finding her. That's a terrifying thought.]
no subject
[but it's easier to hide and say he doesn't care anymore than admit what's really bothering him]
no subject
Dreamin'.
Must've ate somethin' awful if I'm dreaming 'bout myself, then.
no subject
Heh. There's worse shit to dream about, brother.
no subject
Don't gotta dream them half the time, if wanna be accurate.
