I could have promised them a kind of peace but they refused to even listen. Free will is not always a good thing.

If it is even true that we are possessed of free will at all: while I am no believer in blind fate, it seems to my observation the universe moves by its own rules and humans exist at its caprice, rather than it's mercy --
