Well, mun, what did you expect? That things would ever be smooth sailing between me and him? You know as well as I do that he's never going to trust me. Not entirely.

And no, before you get any ideas, me slipping on that costume was a one-time thing. It's brought me enough bad luck as it is. I'm done. So you can forget about all of those icons you have. It's not happening.

My mun wasn't too fond of the pairing, but she's even less fond of how it ended.

Seriously. What happened to Terry? He's become a real dreg.

That sounds halfway familiar, except that it was Terry's words that didn't match up with his actions. He'd say one thing, then do another, not completely change his tune from day to day.

[A strange thoughtful look when Melanie mentions Batman trusting her. Why would Terry trust her in costume and accuse her out of it?]

Terry should know better than to accuse anyone of criminal activity out of the blue. He's had enough of it, he knows how hurtful it is. I'm really sorry he was that way.

That's- a change. Though maybe not so surprising, when he doesn't have the old man breathing down his neck anymore. I thought you had it lucky with him in high school, you only saw his nice reliable side, not the flake.

Criminal activity being in your blood just makes it better than you got away from them. It was easier for Terry to turn himself around when his family wanted him to go straight and supported him.

Speaking of family and support, what happened to your brother? My mun's always loved how you two overcame your parents' abuse and really cared for each other, and she's disappointed that Jack seems to have disappeared.
