Mindane is just a title. I'm sure they got a name there too. Not that it will matter. If they want to mess around with you they will. Sooner you relax into that the better it'll be and faster you'll get back to world savin'.

Can't say I know the cord theory. I'm more of the philosophy of 'what happens, happens'. The inevitable, fates, destiny, chaos, belief, impossible displacement, it all kind of has it's place. And no place at all.

In all honestly, I'm just being cynical. You've got a world to save?

[tucks the pack back into his pocket and smokes idly] That's what the cord theory is essentially. [blows out a stream of smoke] An invisible cord stretches out from your naval tied to your Fate--with a capital goddamn F, mind. [arches his eyebrows at this] And it pulls you forward like a fish on a line.

[though the man's second statement makes him chuckle]

I'm no hero. Just something like a cop if you can call it that. Guarding the wall. [a glance] You?

Hmm, Cord huh? Kind of like that. [he said as he took a drag and considered this.] I tend to go with the flow. If Fate is dragging me around by my middle, I suppose it's all I can do, hmm?

[A brow raised in return. Huh... a cop?] An outlaw, of sorts. Outcast is more like it. I bust through the zones and tear down walls with words. [a pause, then...] Killjoy and DJ. Cherri Cola. [offers a nod of greeting, no handshake]

Tear down my wall and I'll run you through. [it's a light tone though he doesn't look at the man as he says this]

Joseph F. [a similar nod] Call me what you want. Whose joy do you kill, Cola, and what compels you to do it? Have some need or [he grins again] out for a good time?

Metaphorical walls, my friend. I'm a revolutionary, but I'm not in the game to rip concrete and brick.

Mmm freedom of mind. Freedom of simple right. To be able to choose how you think and why you think it. To be able to walk where you want, talk where you want. Freedom from Bleaching. That's what compels me. Freedom from Dracs and Scarecrows, from oppression mostly. I'd call it a need and a long dusty drive away from a good time at all.

Sounds like a hell of a great time. Never heard of Bleaching or Dracs but they sound like the fair folk to me. If that's the case you can run all you want but they'll always be two steps behind. Still. [he tilts his head this way and that, ending in a small shrug] It sounds like an adventure.

[It's not an adventure he wants to be in anymore. He's clocked out for about 12 years actually. So honestly it's only recently that he's hit the air waves again. Not that this other one needs to know that.]

Adventure is a nice way of putting it. But... fair folk? And what's this dream eater you mentioned before? Something you built a wall for?

Fae. Fairies. Take your pick. [he makes a face and stubs out his cigarette.] The wall's been there for three thousand years keeping what is from what shouldn't be. At least, that's what they tell you. I think they just want to sound literary.

Like, you know, mukashi, mukashi, three thousand years ago a certain man built a wall.

The dream eater. [lights another cigarette] Is something new. Have you ever seen those movies where there's a big damned city like New York and some disaster makes the power go out? Big chunks of light just disappearing. In this case that light is fae. If it gets through the wall, it might be something a little closer to home.
