 I'm glad to see that they had work to do. It made SHIELD mean something for a while.

[He doesn't say anything but just stares. He knows who you are, Steve. He doesn't want to hurt you, yet his programming is piercing his brain like a knife. If he doesn't obey, he knows what will happen.]

[Steve tenses hand gripping his shield tight, he doesn't want to hurt this man either, but he has to be ready to fight no matter what. Still he can't help trying just once to reach the Soldier.]

[Steve smiles and holds up a book.]

Peggy's journal I was reading about a mission she undertook after I vanished.

[th3mechanic]

... and? [since that might have involved his father, Tony might be a little curious.]

[feels_taller]

It involves a series of artifacts all labeled 084, they didn't know what some of them did, they just knew they were dangerous. One seemed to be an energy draining object, Peggy was concerned it could kill someone. Howard was too.

[th3mechanic]

.... and? [Steve, tell your story faster. Does it involve the end of the world again?]

[feels_taller]

[Steve rolls his eyes.]

They locked it up....Hydra has it at one of their bases now.

[th3mechanic]

Well, that doesn't sound good. So, we're going after it, I assume?

[feels_taller]

We need to make sure it's safe. I hate to take time away from base take down but it would put my mind at ease.

[th3mechanic]

So we go. [That seemed simple enough. After all, Tony is pretty much a man of action.]

[feels_taller]

You sure you're up to this Tony...we have been running hard and fast.

[th3mechanic]

Why not? What's a little more near-death experience?

[feels_taller]

[Steve sighs.]

Tony I need to know you have my back tired or not. Do you?

[th3mechanic]

If you keep questioning my motivation, my feelings are going to be hurt, Cap. Have I ever not had you back? Aside from the times when I didn't, which were, admittedly, early in our relationship.

[feels_taller]

Like I said we have been running hard all of us I just want to make sure we can do this. Even I'm feeling the strain and it's been six months.

[feels_taller]

Okay I'm good if you are. Can I get a ride?

... sure.

[feels_taller]

[Steve smiles.]

It would be quicker unless you're worried you'll drop me.
