*That might be even harder for Enoch to accept than if he was a demon. Might. This one has a tendency to be able to take or not take to unexpected things.*

I suppose... Lucifel would be much better at explaining these things than I am.

[An ability Asura would envy Enoch for. His tolerance for new and the unexpected is quite low.

*Enoch's tolerance hits gigantic walls every now and again, in places one might not expect to see them. Meeting his first atheist was certainly memorable.*

If you're certain... Has your canon never had them?

*It's an awkward question, and it shows in his voice. He will never get used to interacting with the fourth wall like this.*

[Oh boy is it ever. Asura just looks confused for a second, until his mun whispers a few translation-notes in his ear...]

[And judging by the way he grits his teeth when he says it, it was NOT a good one.]

*The problem with that is it's too easy for Enoch to understand that, and it worries him. He's never thought of himself or any of the angels as pawns. At least, not consciously.*

((ooc: That's fine! And it's funny that it was just casually launched on the first. The devs are trolls. XD))

[As for Asura, for the longest time he has thought of himself as a God. Perhaps not a very good or worthy one, knowing that he was originally human... but a God, at least. Strong enough to take on any challenger. Someone impossible to beat just... hasn't existed in his mind.]

[OOC: Oh for sure. And then I find out the news that they'll release the ACTUAL ending for this guys game as a DLC epilogue...]

[Oh. Oh man that was not a very wise move, but then again just being NEAR Asura tends to end badly. His temper is, after all...]

Against our will... he brought me back from Naraka, set me on the quest to slay his enemies, and took my daughter from me when I had succeeded!

[OOC: Iiindeed. I am guessing that it didn't sell as well as they hoped, so they decided to sell the conclusion instead of develop a sequel.]

*Enoch's handled some powerful threats before. A hand is on his Arch now, just in case.*

...Taking your daughter may have been the reward, in His eyes. I was called to live in Heaven, myself, with a wife and child to leave. But I...trust me, as a father, I understand.

He will wipe the world clean, reset it all and use my daughters body as his... his host!

[Thaat's probably for the best, as Asura is just getting more and more pissed. Evidenced by how there seems to be flames dancing around his body, that grow hotter and hotter the angrier he gets.]

That...doesn't sound like Him at all. Surely, it can't be the same...

*Right, he's going to be stepping back now and taking that Arch from the back of his jeans.*

They're all the same!

[AAAAAND WE HAVE RAGESPLOSION! Fortunately for Enoch Asura is not exactly a... difficult to read opponent. In his anger he easily forgets tactics and analysis, meaning that his attack is a rudimentary one. A simple, lunging punch...

The BAD part is that he is VERY fast, and even if the punch whiffs it's going to hit the ground and cause a small Earthquake. Guy is STRONG.]

*Looks like negotiating isn't an option anymore. It's a good thing Enoch's first reaction to an attack coming straight at him like that is to jump. V-type enemies are best dodged in the air, he's learned.

And the best thing to do from the air, right over an enemy? Buzzsaw them, with the Arch as the blade, powered by both hands on one handle and his feet keeping the connection closed on the other so he can properly saw and doesn't drop like a rock.*

[The blade catches Asura off guard, especially in how it actually wounds him- few weapons have the capabilities to do so in his own world, and he takes the full brunt of the attack.

However, a demi-god is not so easily deterred. Despite the blade grinding against his chest Asuras summons enough power of will to spin around and lash out with his golden arms- generating a massive shockwave that blows back everything in his vicinity.]

*The problem with the buzzsaw move is that it leaves his entire body vulnerable on the other side of the blades, and he's in the air so he can't brace against anything.

A sound like shattering porcelain rings out with his cry of pain as Enoch's thrown, a trail of armor shards marking the way to his landing spot. That blow left him with the back of his armor uneven and his left shoulder and arm uncovered save a fragment of a pauldron that seems to be adhered to his skin, even though it's cracked. The armor on his right leg is cracked, but still moving fluidly with his body as he gets up.

He shifts a few broken pieces of his armor aside with his feet as he returns to his usual battle stance, eying the strong demigod warily. That was a powerful blow, one he doesn't intend to feel again. Even if his armor protects his body from harm, he still feels every bit of pain.*

[Pain? Asura certainly feels that in some way, but as of right now he doesn't care about something so insignificant as pain. Rage guides him, and even if the attack has left his arms charred black and hanging limp by his sides he wastes no time in rushing back in again- this time seeking to crush Enoch with a stomping kick.

As before, Asuras approach completely lacks finesse or tactic: he seems incapable of doing anything but mindlessly charging ahead.]

*Again, Enoch reacts to the charge with a jump, and another jump off the air, this time looking to land behind him. He's learned his lesson about closing off his options with this opponent. Instead, he tries knocking the juggernaut off his feet with an upward swipe, almost an uppercut with the Arch an extension of his arm.*

[The blow connects as Asura is unprepared, and he is left wide-open to whatever punishment Enoch has in mind. Had he saved his power he might have used his shockwave to take himself out of this, but as is...]

[OOC: Also how nerdy is it that I am imagining this fight being played out as a fight in their respective game, with button presses and all?]

*The attack's momentum leaves Enoch himself in the air, and he swipes at Asura from there, his angelic nature seeing to remaining in the air while he strikes.*

((ooc: Ahaha I can't say I'm familiar enough with Asura's game to know the controls, but I'm definitely seeing an ingame fight on Enoch's end. XD))

[Asura remains at Enoch's mercy, but each blow seems to impede him less and less. And as soon as there is a lull in the barrage Asura takes the opportunity to slip away, somersaulting backwards and landing on his feet. This time, however... this time he's wisened up, at least a little. He leaps into the sky and starts punching the air, each blow sending a fist-shaped bullet of light screaming towards Enoch.

And he doesn't seem limited by some arbitrary number of helpful little Gales at his side. There seems to be no end to the blasts he sends out, but they dp seem to slow him down considerably...]

[OOC: BASICALLY the battle system of the game is extremely simple- a single attack-combo, a dash-attack to get near an enemy, a launcher to make them fly, a crowd-clearing move with cooldown and the ability to shoot Dragonball Z blasts non-stop from his hands. Average boss-fight looks a little bit like this. Warning- tons of QTEs and cutscenes. It's really more of an interactive anime than a game, and utterly ridiculous... in a good way.]

*Enoch can't stay in the air forever - due to the nature of the Arch, he has to pause to adjust his hold at some point. And however small, any pause will cause gravity to resume its normal effect on him. He drops to the ground as Asura backflips away. When he leaps into the air, that's when Enoch makes a critical mistake.

He was expecting some sort of shockwave, you see. Something that would force him to need as much distance as he could manage.

But these projectiles? Distance is not necessarily a good thing, as Enoch finds himself precariously dodging fist after fist of light, their impacts with the ground sometimes right on his heels.

And then one hits him square in the chest, breaking off the cracked armor on his shoulder and leg and knocking him to the ground.

At least he has adrenaline and an angelic constitution on his side. He rolls aside to dodge another and makes a mad dash to get out of the rough cone of Asura's range, trying to force him to either drop the attack or turn to target him.*

((ooc: Oh my god, no wonder it's so easy to imagine a fight between these two...))

[Asuras weakness- he is NOT quick on the turn. The blasts are powered by his rage, and rage seldom lets one remain perceptive. As such Enoch may notice the delay in Asuras speed as he stops shooting to quickly turn towards his new angle... but never mind. Asura has never been a fan of keeping his distance. He runs again for Enoch, intent to start close combat once more. He begins with another reckless attack, a leaping spin-kick aimed at Enoch's chest.]

[OOC: ALSO the final boss fight is technically the creator of the Universe... who is Buddha in this game, but still. This guy is blasphemous as all HECK.]

*Once again, Enoch's reaction to being rushed at is to jump over the attacker. In the air, he twists to slam down onto him with the blades of the Arch.*

((ooc: Hahaha, that doesn't faze me, my main fandom aside from this one is classic Shin Megami Tensei, the second game of which also pits you against God - rendered YHVH, so the Judeo-Christian one - in the final battle, even if you were on his side up to that point! (there's good reason for that)

Man, though, not often you see Buddha painted antagonistically. That's a new one!))

[But this time, Asura has received enough blows that he knows bumrushing won't help him. He's prepared for the attack now and rolls out of the way, only to slap the ground in mid-tumble with enough force to crack the ground and send him bouncing straight back at Enoch, this time aiming a solid left hook righ at his enemys chest.]

[OOC: Ha ha, yeah I don't know how much of Evil Buddha's plot really adheres to actual buddhism, even if I suspect that some of it actually does, but seeing a big angry cyborg sock an androgynous dude with droopy ears in the face so hard he shatters his jawline is... novel.]

*Enoch lands on the ground, but the moment he straightens up, Asura's fist slams into his chest. Were he a normal human, without the help of his armor and blessings, the impact would have probably killed him.

As it stands, though, more of his armor shatters, leaving him with a bit of armor on his chest and back, and a single leg greave, broken away above the knee. It's the last stage of his armor, and already there are some cracks obscuring the wing motif on his chest.

He hits the ground hard, pieces of his armor rattling on the hard surface. Only centuries of practice ensure he keeps his hold on his weapon. He rolls up to his feet, and starts running, putting some distance between him and Asura. His body aches and his pulse is pounding in his ears; he needs to gather his thoughts...*

((ooc: ...that does sound...uh. "Novel" is a good way to put it. XD I'll have to watch the rest of that LP sometime.))

[As he comes down from the tumble Asura wastes no time in somersaulting to his feet in pursuit of Enoch. Rage consumes him to the point where he once again neglects his blasters, but be warned Enoch: his top-speed can probably beat yours, so running in a straight line will not avail you...]

[OOC: Be prepared for every boss-battle to be somehow even more ridiculously over the top than the preceding one. It's THAT kind of game.]

*Enoch glances over his shoulder to see Asura gaining on him fast. He's got to do something... He spins around, swiping at the air in a bluff before launching himself into the air over Asura, over his arms, and twisting midair to come down on him in a defense-shattering dive that puts all his weight and momentum behind the blades.

It's very risky, considering Asura can grab him at any stage of it...but if it knocks him down, Enoch can get more distance - hit-and-run seems to be the order of the day.*

((ooc: Oh dear. XD Also, Asura's going to be pissed when Enoch pulls off a recovery, isn't he? Well. As if he wasn't already...))

[Asura is fast, strong and insanely dogged... but if there's one thing he's not, it's quick on the turn. Asura cares little for the bluff as he simply raises his arm to block the attack as he runs, but it means that Enoch can jump uninpeded...

There's only one bitsy problem- Asura is already running at such high speeds that Enoch's attack MISSES him, and hits the ground behind the cyborg. What this DOES accomplish is that Asura suddenly loses his footing and tumbles on the ground, bouncing a few feet before he finally gets to his feet again... whereupon Enoch has gained the distance he so craved.]

[OOC: A nice little short-hand is that Asura is always and forever pissed as long as God exists. Yes, that is in fact a thing he says in the game.]

*The problem being he meant to get some distance after striking. But a miss is okay too, as long as he's alive. He watches the way he gets to his feet. Learning who not to strike when down is one of the first things he aims for - it's too easy to be lulled into a false sense of security.

He'll take this opportunity to run a purifying hand over the Arch's blades, removing whatever vileness had collected on it either from Asura himself or from the act of fighting him.*

((ooc: And to think, Enoch intends to fight him until he gets it out of his system...))

This is really strange even by El Shaddai standards. (Enoch doesn't make a half-bad samurai, though)

Ha ha I... find the armor a bit TOO traditional and not swirly enough, but armor DOES suit him.

Yeah...it looks weird on him, but not bad. XD It's certainly done a good job of making me curious.
