What are they like?

A child like yourself shouldn't approach them too closely.

Oh they're all very different, but so amazing! They're incredibly big!

Oh but I must, it was my idea to ask for their help.

I imagine so! (Aren't dragons supposed to be massive?) You must be very brave.

I wouldn't say I'm very brave, just terribly curious.

What happens if they're insulted?

Well, we're trying to convince them to be our allies in a war, so insulting them, I imagine, would make them less inclined to side with us.

And little girls are made to fight in it?

Oh ah, well... it is my world at stake. But no one is expecting me to fight, just help. I am learning to sword fight though!

I am seven and a half!

And who's teaching you sword-fighting?

Oh, all sorts, mostly kings though, now that I think about it.

[Dragons?! Where?! Awesome! Lockheed might be smaller than the average one... ok a lot smaller... but it's nice to see his fellows, so long as they aren't the unpleasant types.]

Why do yeh need dragons to help yeh? Yeh could always ask Heed for help, little miss lady.

Oh and I know you would be wonderful help! I am sure you're very brave, Heed.

[Her kind words make him blush slightly, compliments are always nice to a fellow like him.]

Well Heed tries to be, yeh have to be when yeh fight stuff like Brood and the like. Yeh seem brave too for such a young human type.

They're like really big, really nasty bugs which try to infect planets and races and kill or turn other species into them, they have a hive mentality, if yeh know what that is. Short answer - they ain't nice.

No probs, me Lockheed of the Flock, nice to meet yeh! [He offers her a stubby purple paw to shake.]

Nasty... bugs? [She scrunches her nose, she dislikes nasty bugs quite a bit.] And I know, bees have a hive! They all work together for the queen.

[She takes the paw and shakes it before curtsying in return.]

[Bugs are generally unpleasant, exceptions aside.] Yeah, well Brood have Queens too and they're always bad news.

[He smiles, finding the little girl's curtsy very adorable.] Then it's nice to meet yeh Lady Liddell... Alice. If yeh needed someone to help yeh with the bigger less pleasant dragon types, Heed is happy to do so.

[So that's what those two guys were complaining about the other day. Elphaba just huffs out a breath, a corner of her mouth twitching upwards in amusement.]

Well, I'm clearly missing out on all the fun. [It's rather dry, but a little more genuine than her usual sardonic remarks.]

I'm not guaranteeing anything, [and it's not like she's itching to head back to Asgard at all, as much as she misses it] but I'll see what I can do with the mundane.
