Bonsoir Mun ami,

It has been some time since we've talked. I was beginning to wonder if all that you recalled were those monstrous flea bitten animals that you have popping up. Yes it is nice to get to some fresh air, to be able to see familiar faces and perhaps a few new ones as well. To be remembered at last, and to remember at last everything that occurred.

So what if you are passed over, turned away, does that really persuade so much that you would tuck tail and run? Are you really too frightened to try? If so I see this will be a rather short trip, I will barely have any time to say hello anyone. I can understand though, there is a time that all humans question their resolve, whether a task or job is important enough to endure and take the risks.

But keep me around and you're certain to succeed, after all I have to do my fair work if I'm to collect my pocket money. And you will find I am far easier to get along with than those monsters.

I do the best that I can. It's best to keep things simple so that the men know what they're fighting and living for. I suppose mun's aren't all that different.

As I have I. But these are not the pleasant kind, the are the most detestable kind, the kind that you would appear in stories you would tell a child so they wouldn't misbehave or wander off too far.

What kind of monsters do you have the displeasure of sharing a space with?

An annoying brat of a kid that worked with that war monger of a major, he continues to come and go claiming to be nowhere or whatever. Then then there's the devil himself, or one of those devils, strutting around calling himself a prince of hell. Though perhaps this is hell, the hell that all those who live bloody lives and die a dog's death know they'll end up.

At least you can't claim you're bored though.

Yeah, it gives me a headache trying to figure out what the hell he means by it. He's a child with no manners that seems to be underfoot like a babe still suckling from that crazed lunatic who started this whole thing.

Oui, I suppose that I have plenty to do. Though I would not mind having to sit back and simply relax and still be paid. Sometimes being bored is good, especially when not being bored usually means you should be ready to die at any moment.

It's a quantum thing. I'm sure he'd get a real kick out of trying to explain it to someone, unless he's an asshole too.

I'd rather die than be bored, but that's just personal. Not everything has to be life or death to be interesting. Drinks with friends can be very entertaining.

You'd fit in quite well then, some say that we might drink too much or that we're a little too loud, but if that's so it's because we want to live an exciting and full life. Not one of boredom, and not one lived by slinking away in the shadows.

Nothing wrong with living a full life and having fun. You're only young for a short time after all, and after thirty you're just seen as an alcoholic. Get all the good times you can get in before someone shoots you in the face.

[Pip just laughs out loud.] We may not look like much but each of them really work to earn what it is we make. If we were of any help it was only because the the coin we were paid was enough for us to be able to endure everything that we faced. There is no reason to thank us or give us praise. All the men want is to be paid.
