Sure, at least some of my classmates are pretty nice, and valuing happy scenes over sad ones sounds good in theory. It's just gotta be all talk with anyone who goes for a canon like mine, you know? And the last thing anyone wants is getting hopes up with no follow through. What's wrong with the other plans you have going? Flights of fancy are pointless before you clear up your one-track muselist... They'd be happy to see the light again! I'm nothing special, I'll be fine on my own, and I want to steer clear of despair, thank you very much.

Should we really be holding out for no despair at all? I don't know, I feel like we might be heading into some facade if a place really bills itself as totally hopeful and happy. Maybe manageable despair. Overcooked rice every night.

I guess Route and Haven are very different... I'm feeling better about Route, but I don't want it to be my only option. What if I get "dropped", you know? This whole application thing seems to put on a lot of pressure... have you been able to stay in your game for a long time?

They're talking about Route 29... Peko seemed to think it's really nice [she's completely smooth with the girl's name] and... Chiaki's supposed to be there with Mikan. So are "you"...

[She trails off, because she has a very basic grasp on the plurality of their situation; Mikan herself is evidence enough that Fuyuhiko's not "there". But here, he's... what happened to him? He's not in costume, as far as she can see. Confused, she repeats herself, looking to him for an answer:] You...

[This is not the reaction he was expecting, given the whole, you know, Chapter 2 business. He returns her confused helplessness with a bewildered stare of his own as he tries to refit the puzzle pieces in a way that makes sense.

Hey, hey...you should be fine as long as you keep to the "slice of life" genre...that kind, it's easier to steer clear of that stuff, you know? Although sometimes people argue and such...it's not anything major.
