Hey, listen to me. It's nice of you to pay attention to me, but can we be honest? Girl to girl? This is a bad idea. Sure, at least some of my classmates are pretty nice, and valuing happy scenes over sad ones sounds good in theory. It's just gotta be all talk with anyone who goes for a canon like mine, you know? And the last thing anyone wants is getting hopes up with no follow through. What's wrong with the other plans you have going? Flights of fancy are pointless before you clear up your one-track muselist... They'd be happy to see the light again! I'm nothing special, I'll be fine on my own, and I want to steer clear of despair, thank you very much.

How is that even medically possible? Do you have any idea?

B-but it happens anyway in these places! Uuu, it's like they're m-magic, they can do any weird thing.

[Mahiru likes Ibuki, even if she's a little bad at showing it. She remembers all of three days in the majorly manic musician's company, so figuring out how to handle her has been a challenge. After her breakdown around Mikan, though, Mahiru is really ridiculously happy to see her.]
You're more used to these people, huh? I'm not surprised the rest of them are lightheaded too. Any ways to keep them in line?

[POTENTIALLY AWKWARD BUT.]
I wish you luck.
[That's. Is that it, Peko. Thanks.]

[Mahiru's bright as the island sun! If Peko's a bit awkward that makes sense, there's probably some kind of perspective discrepancy]
How have you been? Or should I say where?
no subject
[WELL IF KOIZUMI IS BEING SO POSITIVE, SHE PROBABLY DOESN'T KNOW SO IT'S FINE...]
The most permanent, at the moment, is within a video game. Pokémon, to be specific. Nanami would be able to explain the particulars far better than I.

Oh! And have you seen Chiaki-chan... like, around here?

[ her place kinda sucks tbh in terms of despair ]
no subject
[She doesn't look like she's doing so hot...]
Should we really be holding out for no despair at all? I don't know, I feel like we might be heading into some facade if a place really bills itself as totally hopeful and happy. Maybe manageable despair. Overcooked rice every night.

[ What is the word she wants... ]
Havenesque. [ That's not it, but it will do. ] ...However, for now, I cannot leave nor do I wish to. But I think that you should hold out for a much happier place! The place Pekoyama-san is at sounds rather nice...I know there are a few other calmer places, too.

[Mahiru associates havens with safety but Sonia clearly means something quite the opposite... Does it have a diffeernt meaning in Novoselic? Or is it even more specific than that?]
I guess Route and Haven are very different... I'm feeling better about Route, but I don't want it to be my only option. What if I get "dropped", you know? This whole application thing seems to put on a lot of pressure... have you been able to stay in your game for a long time?

[What can he say? That it isn't fair for someone to drag her through more? He doubts she would appreciate that from him, after everything he'd done.]
Where the fuck are they trying to take you?
no subject
They're talking about Route 29... Peko seemed to think it's really nice [she's completely smooth with the girl's name] and... Chiaki's supposed to be there with Mikan. So are "you"...
[She trails off, because she has a very basic grasp on the plurality of their situation; Mikan herself is evidence enough that Fuyuhiko's not "there". But here, he's... what happened to him? He's not in costume, as far as she can see. Confused, she repeats herself, looking to him for an answer:] You...

[This is not the reaction he was expecting, given the whole, you know, Chapter 2 business. He returns her confused helplessness with a bewildered stare of his own as he tries to refit the puzzle pieces in a way that makes sense.
Finally, the realization dawns.]
Ah, shit, you gotta be from...fuck. [He looks away for a moment, gritting his teeth, then lowers his voice, talking more to himself than to her.] Then...that didn't happen to you. Che, I get it now...
[Well, if it didn't happen yet, it didn't happen yet.]
Route 29...that's one of those Pokemon games, isn't it? You're right, that's not "me" there. I'm in one of the other ones.

Anyway, some of them...probably argue and yell 'cause they're happy...? I think.

It just sounds a little too good to be true compared to all the other stuff. Have you been in any other types of roleplay games, Chiaki-chan?
no subject
[ apparently...it's not something she cares to answer...? ]
no subject
Oh, so you are there, Chiaki-chan!
[Mikan and Fuyuhiko already showed up from different games she HAD TO MAKE SURE]
Got yourself a full squad?
