On plans to head to
eachdraidh
I have to say, I wasn't ever expecting to be here again. It's been, what, years? Life moved on, I moved on, nice and safe in my...violent, war torn existence...which isn't the point at all, so don't try to distract me. I thought we were done, you and I. But here you are, dragging me back out to send me off to some other awful place I don't want to go to.
Remember the superhero city? Or the city of endless night? Because I do. I think I really like it when you just leave me alone.
And really, why do you need to drag me into another war when I've got more of one than we can handle at home? Ancient evil's brewing, dangerous trips through the underworld, remember? I've got a full plate with a war I might be able to make a difference in, I don't need to be dumped into one where I can't.
Yes, I know my friends are there. My friends are back home, too. No, not all of them. Bringing up Luke isn't fair...
[She is quiet for a moment as she collects herself.] But they need me back home, remember? [She lets out a frustrated breath.] And I mean...of course, I want to help them wherever I can. But this whole idea, crystals stuck inside us, fighting some war between ancient, unfathomable powers?
Some of it's ridiculous and the rest, why even bother going out when I've already got that at home? So look, just forget about the whole thing and we'll-
...You're not listening to me at all, are you. Oh never mind, it's not like I can actually stop you. You're worse than Percy when you get an idea in your head.

I'm pretty sure you're too biased to get a say in this, Seaweed Brain.

I promise I am not crazy I am just out of practice.
But it makes no sense, from a strategic point of view, if we all get trapped in some other dimension fighting fairy wars.
[Ah hah, she'll turn to logic, that'll help, right! ...Right?]
no shhh, you're totally fine!
But, I mean, that aside. Minimal fighting! Plus quests? And living in a castle with our friends. It's like camp, but with equal opportunity monsters and enemies, instead of ones that zero in on demigods.
Haha, thank you. I haven't had her out and about in a LONG time.
It doesn't sound completely awful. Better than the last place I was anyway. [She sucks in a breath.] Which is besides the point because I can't just...go along with something like this!
[She hesitates, and then grins.]
...It doesn't surprise me Clarisse started a fight though. Did she win it?
I don't think you have anything to worry about c:
You can totally go along with something like this. We could do normal stuff. Like go watch a movie or swim in a lake and not have to worry about what next.
[ hahaha, well- ]
I guess. Well, sort of. She won, but... it's hit her pretty hard. The aftermath of it. I think it'd help to have you there.

[Sounds a definitely improvement in his eyes.]

I've never wanted to be 'kept' though.

[Spoken from experience, given he would've rather been kept in one place at the time.]

Annabeth Chase incapable of making a difference? Sounds like you don't know yourself at all.

It's not that simple, Luke. It's a completely foreign world with a million variables I know nothing about, full of people from worlds with even more issues.
It'd be like throwing one person into an erupting volcano and telling them to solve the lava.
[Actually she had some theories about that...]
no subject
[ but it is that simple, and luke will gladly inform her as to why with the simplest of actions: ignoring her own words and raising to meet the one thing he hears her say without so much as putting a voice to it. i can solve lava. ]
Good thing they picked you. You'd have solved it during one of your days of self-proclaimed boredom.
Does that brain of yours ever switch off?
no subject
Only on the days yours turns on. So...no. Never.

You'll probably be disappointed to know that not even the fairy dust has managed to switch this old tinker on. Think it's lost for good. [ shaking his head, he sighs. feigning disappointment, ] Damn shame. I could've been the whole package.
no subject
Yeah, a real shame. You'll just have to settle for being handsome and dashing and heroic, how awful.
[Hey, she didn't even blush saying that. Progress!]
no subject
I'm dashing, but brainless. [ he mulls this over. ] It sounds very awful. How do the monsters cope?

Logged into the wrong account is a for sure sign it is time to sleep, I think.
we can take on the lava monsters in the morning!
And so we shall.

Part of a plan, anyway. I'm still working on it.
