the rising.
It is reassuring to know that the Rising isn't going to be what you hoped for, especially since what you hoped for was another cataclysm but.. I'm not going to celebrate it. Fireworks and spraying obnoxiously named alcohol around seems poor taste for what is supposed to be a memorial ceremony.
...I will attend. Only in case it serves as a meeting point, and because others I know will find it an obligation to go. That's all.

[Pause.]
It's just a bad time of year for me. I'm most likely overthinking it.
[Another pause. And, despite himself.]
Doesn't it feel a little like a celebration rather than a memorial?

I suppose it's better than nothing being done for this day at all... Anyway, enjoy the celebration.

Are... you annoyed at it as well? Not being dragged there. I mean the way a day like that is being conveyed.
[HE KNOWS ALL ABOUT YOUR LITTLE ESCAPE FROM CARTENAU, MERISIA. ALL ABOUT IT.]

Well. um...
If you go, have fun.
[Nope, social skillz haven't improved at all.]

....Twenty gil says it's him, anyway.
[Too bad, really. What he'd give to hear Thancred sing again- even if the subject matter last time was nothing short of disturbing.
AND BESIDES. NOR DID HE. NOR DID HE ASK FOR THIS NEW BODY THANK YOU VERY MUCH. Even if it's got advantages. Liiiiiiiike not being recognized by anyone ever!]

[ And knowing the mun, not even a broken monitor is going to keep her from dragging Merisia there... ]
[ Merisia was lucky enough to make it out of the calamity unscathed. Her hair got a touch-up, though, but that was more the work of that comb-wielding madman than any aetherial interference. ]

[ Poor Mir. So hopeless. ]
I'll be going to Carteneau. Or- you know, close as I can get without the Grand Companies shooting me down and tearing all of my legs and arms off. Like a pilgrimage, I suppose.
You're welcome to join me if you think that's less distasteful. I doubt I'll be the only one there.
