It has been an unfortunately extended absence. Never forgotten. Just not given the attention I deserve, I think. As if I was being taken advantage of.

The adventuring type. I've known a few and I suppose I've begrudgingly gone on some adventurers. I have greater obligations keeping me from pursuing that kind of life, however.

The only other princess I knew of was quiet, but ambitious of her own fashion. I suppose not all princesses can be the same, and I wouldn't want them to be. I'm sure your princess is good to you, after all.

Is that so. I recall borrowing a boy to do one or two odd jobs for me, as well. Seems that's a thing all princesses have in common. [Because even Zelda's done that. No shame in admitting you need a little help. Usually. Unless you're Midna.]

To be fair, getting him in on the job was kind of my idea. Good ol' Link ended up doing the things I couldn't do... [But there was a reason for that, after all. Different histories and all that.]

But hey, learning from example, right? I might even take up the hero business sometime in the future! I mean, if my princess needs me to. Eheh.

Possibly, yes. In my case then, I'll just take every rupee within reach. That ought to suffice for the time being.

Thanks? There are so many people here, and being on the surface, even if it's not my surface, is exciting. I want my mun to take me somewhere with forests, but she seems reluctant to thing about games yet.

They have plenty to remember me by. A sparkling gem isn't going to improve the chances of that.

You want to go somewhere with a forest, Princess who isn't actually a princess. There are dangerous things in forests. You could get hurt. And if you are not a princess, then what are you calling yourself? You look like someone I know.

There seem to be dangerous things everywhere, but like I told my mun, I'll be really careful. I don't want anyone to have to get hurt because of me, but I want to see the world. ( Her arms stretch to either side of her.) Not just the "safe" areas of it.

( Zelda blinks but just laughs, her hands fixing loosely to her hips. )

It's great to meet you, Midna. ( Her brows knit briefly. ) I'm sorry I'm not the Zelda you knew from before. Were you close? I've never actually met a princess before.

I believe I will procure for myself a pet to make up for a wolf I once had. [She doesn't say much more beyond that, but there's a bittersweet edge to the tone that implies a sensitivity.]

( But that isn't nearly enough. You've piqued her interest now, Midna, and the questions seem to hop from her lips before she can think to stop them. )

She is quiet, modest, and saves kingdoms? ( Her head tilts, the smile returning to her lips. ) Your princess reminds me a lot of the great goddess Hylia, or, well, ( because she is still adjusting to the fact that she and Hylia are one in the same ) at least how she is portrayed in the legends. I'm glad that your kingdom is safe.

The goddess Hylia. [That's eerily similar if she's ever heard it before. There are tales of plenty of gods and even before that, the three goddesses. Who's to say there isn't one more. It's no mere coincidence that this girl now and the princess she knows share a name and similar features.] That just might be a possibility.

I seem to believe that one day she and I will meet again. If the gods are so kind.
