...I doubt they actually did take each other out.
[...Or, at least he sincerely hopes they didn't. That would be a pretty sad way to end that battle and as much as he would like to repay the debts they owe to Fairy Tail and Natsu-san, he and Sting have their own fight to worry about right now.

I know you are worried a lot about it, especially since that guy isn't being serious yet. Have some faith. We still have some aces up our sleeves left ourselves.
[...Probably.]

{ Which doesn't surprise Zeref, to be honest. }
I should warn you, though, that he is not Tartarus' Guild Master, nor even their most powerful member.

[Because that's what happens when you underestimate your opponent; you tend to be in for a nasty surprise. The twins have learned that lesson painfully enough during the games and while Sting is still irked by Marde Guille's arrogant proclamations in spite of knowing this, Rogue isn't all that bothered.
Waiting for the right moment to strike is the first battle tactic Skiadrum had taught him after all.]
Maybe so. But regardless of that, and of whoever else gets in our way – more powerful or not... we are taking our Young Mistress home.
[And that's all there is to that.]

{ Only the first humans to have ever lasted that long against him, if what Marde Guille said was true. All of Tartarus' demons see humans as inherently inferior to them, but Marde Guille hates humans like none other. }
I don't see why that would be a problem, personally. But I suppose that isn't my call to make.

[It's not arrogance that speaks now, not like what now seems a lifetime ago when he and Sting had boasted they could have bested Acnowlogia. It's the confidence in the unshakable bond between the two of them, in the advances made since the games and the utter certainty that failure against Marde Guille is not an option.]
Was any of this?

[Because for all that they may be lacking the whole story, before reaching the now-ruins of Magnolia the Twins had seen what had remained of Succubus Eye and though the scents of magic and curses had been faint, it's enough to conclude that Minerva had not left willingly.
Combined with Marde Guille's attempt to kill her, it's more than enough for them to consider it a declaration of war against Sabertooth and while Tartarus may not consider that noteworthy... they will make them see. Their guild has changed to one that feels strong and fierce, to one that has the fangs and claws to back up its claims. They are no longer empty of bonds like they once had been.]

{ After Plutogrim practically leveled Magnolia, Zeref honestly expected every guild in Fiore to be converging on the place soon. Tartarus was powerful, to be sure, but with the Nine Demon Gates down to just under half of their numbers at best, their lesser demon soldiers being gone, and E.N.D. not around, sheer numbers could be enough to wipe them out completely. }
For what it is worth, Natsu will not take no for an answer in that regard. He has a more personal stake in this than any of us.

That second part definitely snaps Rogue off that line of that line of thought.]
Natsu-san-!? What the hell do you mean by that?

[ Someone is still pissed off at a certain someone. Not naming names here but it's definitely Gajeel.
Oh. ]
no subject
[The last time Rogue poked on the Natsu/Gajeel rivalry issue and insinuated that Natsu is the stronger one, he got his ass kicked. Which is why, he is pretty sure they tie.
But yeah, no need for repeats, thank you.]

Anyways, you're not doing so bad either against that guy! Guess that's something, right?
[ let's not talk about how dumb that was. ]
no subject
Yeah. There is no denying that he's strong, but even so... We won't lose.
[Not against a guy like that. Not when he's tried to hurt one of their guild.]
Late to the party <3
We haven't even started yet.
[He had faith that the first gen would pull through.]
Looks just on time to me! <3
Aah. That guy is in for a few surprises.
[They have yet to use Drive or Dragon Force after all.
Rogue does too. Somewhat.]
even later to the party orz hope you're still accepting tags ;;
[Have a reassuring grin for good measure. Pride aside, they have no choice but to win anyway.]
THERE IS NO TOO LATE I LIVE ON BACKTAGS!
[Indeed. Failure is not an option, especially not when Tartarus and their plans are threat to all they hold dear.]
[ooc: also, /gently nudges towards that one musebox thread. :3]
YAAAAAY
[That grin reduces to a smile, though still reassuring. Marde Guille's strong, sure, and he knows he shouldn't underestimate him (and Sting knows for himself he's not - he's not the hopelessly arrogant Sting of before.) But a few words to boost their confidence should do them good. It's a battle they must win, after all.]
[ooc: awww yes yes i should get back to that soon!!! /o/]
no subject
[Rogue mirrors that smile with one of his own, maybe a little more quiet than Sting's, but definitely visible. They are not the same as they used to be – have shed the attitudes of sheer arrogance and indifference respectively, have come to realize the things worth fighting for – and it's the result of those changes that will surely lead them to victory now.]
[ooc: \o\ \o/ /o/]

[He cracks a knuckle, smile not waning even a little.]
Mine's a little worried too, you know, but I keep telling her the exact same things I'm telling your mun. I guess we have two silly girls now as our added audience.
[(Aside from everyone that's keeping up with the manga.)
He means that in jest, though, as Sting's expression doesn't falter. But he's serious when it comes to winning against Marde Guille. As Master of Sabertooth, there's a need to pay the bastard back for even attempting to kill Minerva, one of their guild's own. And as Rogue's partner, there's also a need to not let him down and have his back at all times.]
[ooc: i have to be in a tl;dr mood tho! i need to match your beautiful prose! <3]
no subject
[Even the Young Lady is worrying for them. Or so his mun tells him.
Rogue is with him on this, from the start to the very end – not just as a member of Sabertooth, but also as his partner. Because Sting is more than just that now, he is their guild's Master, their guiding light into the future and it's on Rogue to be his support, to keep his back free and he will not fail in that.]
[Take all the time you need! <333]
no subject
Well, to the other people worrying, we've got this covered. We'll defeat this bastard and return to Sabertooth with the Young Lady.
[And it goes without saying that they'll somehow repay Fairy Tail for how they helped change them and their guild. Speaking of which-]
We still have to pay Natsu-san back.
[And it also goes without saying that Sting believes they didn't take each other out.]
[noooo don't say that!!! i have to get back to it already! /cracks knuckles]
