This all seems fairly disorganized, scribe. You've not decided on which version of events to use, or what point. And I have no intention of being forced into one of these 'games'.

As far as I can tell, there is nothing playful about any of them.

Have they given you cause for such faith?

On occasion, she has been known to let reason hold sway. But it has been some time since she attempted to write on my behalf.

More than some could say. Perhaps you should guide them if they've not the mind to make their own choice.

I do offer advice. Mankind has the gift of free will, however, as do most sentient beings. If guidance becomes force, then it is no longer beneficial to either party.

[ Peh! Free will. He disagrees. Force is useful. Let's take a second to analyze mankind (uhm, excuse you Malekith). ]

Is it not force they use upon us? What with the being our writers and all.

[loremasters]

Is it? I have always viewed it as a Power taking direct interest in my life. For good or ill and all that may entail.

Their interest has consequences, has it not? Does it not lead up places we wish to not travel?

[loremasters]

All interest has consequences. That is the way of the world. The trick, I think, is standing firm to your own principles. And believing your scribe will choose the correct path in the end.

Your faith in them interests me.

[The lightest of caresses as she moves to his side. Oh how familiar this sounds for once these same words, or similar enough, came from her.]

None of us intend so, beloved, but they will do as they please in the end. And little power have we to stop them.

[loremasters]

Perhaps, but I am not content to admit defeat at this early stage. [ Well hello there. Let him steal his wife's hand. ] And persuasion can be a power in, and of, itself.

[silvergift]

[Steal? Oh no, it's freely given and she squeezes his softly.] Perhaps you will be more successful than I.

[It's selfish, and she knows it, but a part of her hopes that he isn't. She cherishes each time she sees her husband]

[loremasters]

[ Oh, good. He'll keep it safe, then. And possibly not relinquish for a good, long while. ]

Only time will tell on that, my lady.

[silvergift]

So it will, my lord.

[She smiles and leans close, no objections from her about however long he'll keep hold of her hand.] And where do you hope your persuasion will leave you both?

[loremasters]

[ Would forever be too long? He misses her more than words - or song - can sufficiently express. ]

With you. And somewhere peaceful, should my prayers be answered.

[silvergift]

[It wouldn't be long enough, actually. And oh how she knows that feeling, long nights spent curled up in bed in her grandparents home or how she would sit on the beach and stare back towards Middle Earth.]

I would certainly enjoy that.

[loremasters]

[ Then he will simply take advantage of this place between worlds and indulge the presence of his mate. Like any other husband. ]

Where has your scribe led you, beloved?

[Except, he's the best husband. Ever.]

She has taken me to another world, Drabwurld in its more common tongue. [She bites at her lip, very softly, and considers what to tell.] Where war has broken out between the two courts.

[ Lies. He's the worst husband ever. Otherwise, she would have been fully healed instead of having to sail to Aman. ]

A war?! Your scribe dropped you in the middle of a war. Need I have words with her?

[ Despite how quietly he calls to the Halfelven, there's an underlining hint of urgency and slight sovereignty in his tone. ]

It is unwise to bait them further.

[loremasters]

[ To all outward appearance, the master of Rivendell is unperturbed. But his father-by-marriage is afforded a fairly respectful tone. ]

I am simply trying to understand the reasoning behind ... this.

There's little reason to be had.

[ The Lord of Lothlórien tries to explain through heavily veiled words. ]

Spurn their counsel, and find suffering. Acknowledge their whims, and perhaps find more suffering.

Both results are undesirable.

Perhaps that is true. Even so, I find little reason in not being polite or letting her know where I stand, no matter the road she chooses.
