Not sure if there's an equivalent in your universe, but it's the SCP foundation. Short for Secure, Contain and Protect.
Anything alien, supernatural or otherwise out of the ordinary they do what it says on the tin. Granted they also test on the things and people they find to discover their qualities.
I'm one such person they've got cooped up, but honestly I would be dead without them. At random I'll find myself in another universe. Sometimes interesting, but other times bloody frightening and dangerous.
Sounds kinda like SHIELD. [ Or HYDRA. ] Did they run tests on you? Are you a verified dangerous person? Cause if you aren't, I don't know if I agree with the cooping up.
Nothing too invasive. Regular medical check ups and the like. Especially when I switch universes and back.
The only danger I present is if someone's touching me when I swap over they come with me. So the justification for them might be that I could bring something dangerous back by mistake or cause disappearances.
Honestly though like I said I would probably be dead without their medical assistance. Not to mention you can't exactly hold a job if you just disappear.
My situation doesn't bother me so much. It's other people's. Especially the kids that are SCPs. Sure some of them need watched, but I don't feel right with these kids cooped up constantly with stuffy scientists and government agents. They don't just lock them in a tiny room of course, but I think not being exactly the nurturing type is how a lot of people deal with this job.
[Ma'am. Oh god. She can't even.] - Steve. Seriously, you need to not call me that. It's going to take me forever to figure out you're addressing me and not someone else, and no one needs that time wasted.
[ He can hold all of the opinions he wants, on the matter; Natasha knows how muns' minds go. And he can't blame her - she's been hanging out with this guy who's influenced her quite a bit, really into truth and honesty and that whole 'seeing the world how it really is' thing. ]
You might think you do, Steve, but it's a hopeless struggle. Believe me, I've been there.
I doubt it. I have tried threatening and bargaining with my mun extensively and she has yet to yield on anything. She won't even let me kill my father's enemies despite my extensive training as an assassin. It's akin to being shoved into a jail cell.
I would advise you start planning preemptive revenge.

It's better than the Foundation or SHIELD to be sure, but we're not exactly in the position to have any sort of agency.
