I don't know why you're showing me this.  Even if I'm not responsible for him in that universe, I'd rather not have to see any version of that machine again.

...Of course, knowing my luck, there will be three or four of him in this place after the first trailer.

It's probably best not to think about it. I'm sure Tony will find some way to bounce back from it, though - it seems like nothing fazes the guy.

I'm sure HYDRA would work as an easy scapegoat if needed. Though given how many times his tech has been stolen, I'm not sure if that would make things better or worse.

By the way, it's nice to actually get to talk to you, Dr. Banner - where I'm from, circumstances are a little... different.

I wouldn't worry too much about that - Ultron's never been good with conversation. [Probably Pym's biggest disappointment with the project, up until it became violent and then genocidal.]

Why did you build him?

To help bring peace to the world, ironically enough. More recently, I tried using a large number of Ultrons as prison guards; I felt like their unique AI made it easier for them to look at things objectively and logically so they could quickly get to the root of the prisoners' personal problems, which made up for their lack of conversation skills.

There is no 'objective' when looking at humans. Sometimes I don't think there's logic, either.

I - [Hank flinches at that - what happened with Ultron was the exact opposite of what he wanted.] He was originally designed to solve conflicts non-violently. When a conqueror from the future showed up to take over the world, we needed an army to hold off his forces, and the Ultron units were the only option. I was against it, but it was either that or the world being put in the hands of a madman. I never wanted to teach Ultron about violence, but we had no other choice. At least, that was the case in my universe - this one seems to be different.

We do have a sense of logic behind our actions, even the worst of us - it may be clouded by emotion at times, but that's not a bad thing by any means.

Every machine, whether intentional or not, will search for the simplest solution to an issue. Find problem [a]. Find solution [b]. Execute [b]. Goto 10. Without emotion, without restraint, it becomes easy to think of lives as mere numbers. And even with emotion--fear, anger, hatred. End the problem as soon as possible, with whatever means necessary.

It's hard.

It's probably much more enjoyable when they're on the other side of a screen. Though, after everything that's happened, I don't think I'll even be able to watch a bad sci-fi movie featuring robots again.

I'm sure we'll be accosted by an Ultron sooner, rather than later.

And we're not going to think of how they're going to play up my crazy while we're at this.

Is it too much to hope for later? He just went rogue where I'm from; I'd rather not have to deal with him face-to-face again. [Mun is trying to avoid his season 2 portrayal for now - the difference between Hank in season 1 and Hank in season 2 is rather extreme.]

I suppose you're right. Hopefully, the Vision will arrive around the same time. I haven't had the opportunity to meet him yet, but it's a relief to know that something good will come out of Ultron.

The one who claims to "play" me says that I have been created by different people in different universes.

You are not my son, no matter what world you're from. If anything, you're me, minus my conscience, and a rather poor imitation at that. [The "irrelevant" remark stung; as much as he tried not to let that show, it would be clear to someone like Ultron that it got to him.]

My mun's rubbing my nose in it too, since it's likely I made it. Well - the me who's from that universe. But I've made other mistakes, so this is a great opportunity for muns of all kinds to twist the knife deeper. [Tony wishes he was old enough to drink right now.]

I'd try not to worry about it. Ideally, we shouldn't be judged based on what other versions of ourselves have done or will do. [If that was the case, Pym would have a lot more to feel bad about, based on the regular Marvel Comics universe and the Ultimate comics alone.]

Ideals and the real world don't match up, or superheroes wouldn't exist in the first place, [Tony points out, because his brain is not wired to accept comfort.] I agree with the thought, though I have a vested self interest in it since, well, let's be real here - I make a lot of mistakes. In every universe.
