You really don't need to find anyone from the same "story" as me, you know?  I'm quite good at making friends with others.  You also seem to keep throwing me at random people in these "memes" you find, so I've met some interesting people.  I'm not lonely or anything.  So quit pouting, alright?

It sounds like the price was won before you miraculously ended up here, if I'm understanding you correctly. And if so, it begs the question of how you allowed yourself to get to that point to begin with.

My father. It's a long story, but I can give you the short of it if you're really curious.

I would not be discussing it if I were not the least bit curious.

My Father is the sort of man who controls everything, down to the smallest detail if necessary, and he believes he knows everything. Up until about a year ago, he'd never even been defeated in battle.

We've been at war, off and on, with the Lusitanians for years. Always pushed them back, but the last major battle against them they were using some sort of wizardry, and also had one of our men who went to their side.

During the battle, we thought my Father had died, most of the men had and we had no word of him. Naturally, as Prince, it was my duty to try to restore the kingdom. I already had a price on my head, because I was Crowned Prince, worse after my Father was out of the picture.

Recently, we found he was alive. But instead of acknowledging why I was doing what I was, he accused me of a coup and sent me towards the south. It's straight through enemy territory.

And you actually followed his order, and with the knowledge that it could mean certain death?

Not following his orders would have been certain death.

It seems to me that you were doomed no matter which route you took, and so I cannot understand why you would choose one riddled with cowardice.

How is it cowardice? What other choice did I really have?

You'd rather die like some petty martyr than stand up to your own brute of a father? Even if there was a high probability that I would be killed by someone's conniving hand, I'd rather fight for my throne with dignity than walk away with my tail between my legs. Besides, it sounds like your father won no matter what, so the least you could do is not be a coward. That's why I don't understand it.

It's of no use to anyone to choose a fate with certain death, when one has some form of chance of living otherwise.

So you are waging that you would have been able to survive the travel through enemy territory? Is that it?

[parsianprince]

The chances are better, yes.
