newishness

If you really want my opinion, I think we should try and get to know each other a little better before you make any plans. ... Might help to give it a shot when it's not getting on two in the morning, too. All due respect, miss -- I don't think the problem's on my end just now.

Get some sleep.
sonofcoul: (Welp.)

Good luck with that, captain. Getting them to sleep is a tricky task at the best of times.
sonofcoul: (Heh.)

[personal profile] sonofcoul 2014-05-31 05:06 am (UTC)(link)
Shouldn't take too long, then. Picked the right time for the battle, anyway.
sonofcoul: (:])

[personal profile] sonofcoul 2014-05-31 05:06 pm (UTC)(link)
In that case, congratulations on a job well done.
sonofcoul: (Welp.)

[personal profile] sonofcoul 2014-05-31 10:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, most anything's an improvement over being dead, so I can't complain too badly.
sonofcoul: (Contemplative.)

[personal profile] sonofcoul 2014-06-01 02:08 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I really was.

They told me it was for eight seconds and then they managed to bring me back and send me to recuperate in Tahiti.

Turns out, it was a little longer and a little more complicated and involved... Much more experimental procedures. And memory modification.
sonofcoul: (Serious but calm.)

[personal profile] sonofcoul 2014-06-01 02:34 am (UTC)(link)
I can safely say that Hydra had nothing to do with this one.
sonofcoul: (Immensely earnest.)

[personal profile] sonofcoul 2014-06-01 03:23 am (UTC)(link)
It was Director Fury's idea. It was... it had originally been tested as a potential method to revive a fallen Avenger, in case of emergency. But... the project head recommended it get scrapped because of potential side effects. After I died, Director Fury decided to take the chance and use it on me.
sonofcoul: (I can be matter-of-fact.)

[personal profile] sonofcoul 2014-06-01 03:45 am (UTC)(link)
Varied. The memory modification had been the only even partially reliable way to avert them. I've been fortunate enough that I haven't displayed any of the really bad ones.
celestialpervert: (Good for you)

[personal profile] celestialpervert 2014-05-31 11:16 am (UTC)(link)
As a fellow new traveller, I have to say I don't think they much listen to us. But it's so sweet of you to care.

[ Why yes, that last bit is a touch sarcastic.
celestialpervert: (Almost fond)

[personal profile] celestialpervert 2014-06-01 01:34 am (UTC)(link)
My, a true gent. Haven't seen one like you since...
Well, a long time ago.
hatesmath: (What?)

[personal profile] hatesmath 2014-05-31 01:16 pm (UTC)(link)
I was also an 2 in the morning decision. But it worked out anyway.
hatesmath: (Keeping my eyes on you)

[personal profile] hatesmath 2014-05-31 08:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah. I guess Mun's are like that. Spontaneous. But after some time it gets better.

Some Muns are more cruel that others. Some even seem to enjoy torturing us. I don't know your Mun but in my experience it turned out well in any case.
onteamdyson: (I wrote this next song about a fisherman)

[personal profile] onteamdyson 2014-05-31 09:10 pm (UTC)(link)
She should at least buy you dinner first, amirite? Bet yours sleeps more than mine. It's bad decision central over here!

...Speaking of bad decisions, way to be a hero even out of uniform?
onteamdyson: (ooooooooor)

[personal profile] onteamdyson 2014-05-31 09:27 pm (UTC)(link)
[Hang on, Steve, she's staring. You're like .... only the second dude made out of PURE GOODNESS that she's ever met.] How are you real? Dang, I was born in the wrong decade. You old school boys are where it's at.

But seriously, I owe you one. If you ever wanna take a night out and need a replacement, I can totally avenge. I'm really good at avenging. You go grab a pizza with your buddy Bucky, and I'll handle the shield for a night.
onteamdyson: (let me tell you WHY you're dumb)

[personal profile] onteamdyson 2014-05-31 09:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Safer? Who the he...ck wants safer? Do you need a sidekick? I've got experience! I'll get Bo to write a reference letter. Coffee is a thing I do with my faedad, not a freakin' super hero!
onteamdyson: (But I'm gonna kick your butt!)

[personal profile] onteamdyson 2014-06-01 02:49 am (UTC)(link)
[She doesn't like that face, Steeb.] For a guy that works for S.H.I.E.L.D., you're a sucky liar. You gotta work on that, Rogers, seriously. Does Nat need to show up and give you more pointers and dating advice? Because I don't mind sharing the spotlight with that girl. She's got moxie.
onteamdyson: (Kim!...I will DESTROY you!)

[personal profile] onteamdyson 2014-06-01 03:46 am (UTC)(link)
Dating. In general. She's good at it. And apparently I feel her pain! [It's like dealing with Finn!]

Is it weird being able to reach the top of the fridge now?

Sleep is for the weak, Rogers.

That feeling when you're reaching for something, really reaching, but you can't grab it.

[ Like that. ]

They are more or less generally content with letting me slip in and out of some kind of psychosis.

Depends on what you mean by alone.

[Don't mind Amon's silent appearance. It's sort of a thing, in and out of canon, but the actual explanation is a bit besides the point. The tall masked man cocks his head to the side. His voice is low and smooth, his demeanor deceptively relaxed.]

So, this is the great Captain America I've heard so much about. I have to say that I'm impressed. This might be the first American hero I've seen in a while that isn't ill-mannered, though to be fair, I share a headspace with multiple members of the Stark family.

[His quick footsteps make no sound as he circles Steve, looking him over, but for now, Amon is neutral towards him.] Although your newness didn't need to be the entry title. Anyone attempting to get these muns to sleep is either new or a fool.
