We've finally spoken to all the signs the City has - the Aries, the Taurus, the Cancer, the Leo, the Virgo, the Libra, the Scorpio, the Capricorn, the Aquarius and the Pisces. All that we are missing is the one with the sign of the Gemini, and the one with the sign of the Sagittarius.

You anticipate it, as do I. The set must be completed. All twelve must come together and be collected. The zodiac will finally be mine.

In the meantime, perhaps you will allow me to speak to them more? We must make use of the time we have.

There are twelve creatures known as trolls, and they each carry a symbol of the zodiac. It is only tangentially related the constellations.

Superstition, perhaps. But the meaning is there. The Zodiac is intricately linked to the calendar, and that makes it important.

Also, the animals are from the Chinese zodiac, while the trolls match the Western.

What's the calendar got to do with it all? Is it a sort of collection?

Each turn of the zodiac falls on specific dates. Thus each sign occupies a space on the calendar. We are currently under Pisces. February 18th to March 20th.

It all comes back to the calendar. Everything comes back to the calendar. Every day is important. Every holiday is special. Every day of the week has meaning, every month is particular to itself. The calendar holds the key to all.

I have spoken with a few aliens who have different systems of time measurement. I find it fascinating. But I live on Earth, and therefore it is the calendars of Earth I concern myself with. More knowledge of those other systems is not unwelcome, however.
