Well, better late than never, right? You said you were going to do this a while ago- back when you got through with the whole Splattercon!! mess. I appreciate trying to save me from being too surprised about having an apprentice. Not quite sure about your desire to see me get into more trouble before finally putting in an application at this Adstringendum place though. I was under the impression that the whole point of this exercise was to put me through the wringer yourself.

Yeah, I thought that probably wouldn't work. As many magical heavyweights as I already have out for my blood, what's a couple more anyway, right? Just hurry up with the next book. I'm a wizard. the ambient magic built up around me tends to mean most technology has a short shelf-life around me. Older, simpler devices last longer, but I've decided the replacement and maintenance costs just aren't worth it.

At this point I think it would just be a drop in the bucket, honestly. And it's not necessarily all bad. I shouldn't have to worry about Mab trying to call in her last favor while I'm there. That alone is practically worth the price of admission.

Still, anything you can tell me about it would help. I've got a general idea of how the city works, but since it's been a while since the guy running the show hasn't been there for a while, he doesn't know much about the major players within the city right now.
