On looking at Horror games for this guy
Don't suppose you intend on letting me in on any of your plans..?
Right. Why would you? I'm only in your bloody head!
[That's bloody Mind Palace, thank you.]
No, Sherlock has a Mind Palace, you've a Mind-- hut!
[Uh, rude, John!]
Place like that, bound to be dangerous, mind. Could probably do with a Doctor...
[And a soldier, atta boy Johnny!]

John, you should be nicer. These... muns have a great deal of control in the end.

[And you see how well he listens to him. Still.. he'll attempt to put on a smile for Mary.]
I'll manage. I only hope yours treats you a good degree better.
no subject
As long as its better than Sherlock gets treated, I'll be fine.
[She'll be fine anyway - it's the game that would be the issue.]
no subject
You will be. Mary, there will be other people there. Sherlock and-- another me. They won't let anything happen to you.
[But that's not giving credit to his wife.]
And I know you can take care of yourself.
no subject
So where are you looking?
no subject
[A frown; he still isn't okay with Mary being thrown into one of those warzones, not remotely.]
Wherever it ends up being, I'm sure I'll be useful.
[That is the only condition he will go by.]
no subject
[She approaches him and plays with his sweater, straightening it out.]
I want you to be careful out there. And you don't need to worry about the little one. She won't be going with me.

Good.
[Good that his wife will be in slightly less danger that way; not so good that the magic of timelines could temporarily take away their unborn child. Maybe if that wasn't a possibility, Mary wouldn't have to go at all; surely there would be some law that said a mun couldn't just take a pregnant woman and fling her onto the frontline of a battlefield or wherever they deemed the most amusing.
As her hands brush against his jumper, his own move to rest tentatively against her hips.]
At least they still allow small visits like this.
[Even if their wedding was a farce, Mary has no reason to fake things now, these moments are real. Love or not, they still cared for each other. It's enough.]
I don't subscirbe to 'evil Mary' as some do.
A respite from the chaos. Much needed, considering my mun.

So sorry; I've been away the last couple of days!
[A brief laugh to counter the horror of that idea. No, as much as he likes being useful, and although he is very good at what he does, one man can only do so much.]
Though generally the more doctors there are about, the better than chances for survival; less casualties, and all that.
[Obvious- Sherlock would correcting such blatant explanations, were the other man, here, going with him. The thought has John shifting uncomfortably, adjusting his footing.]
Suppose I might be over thinking it a bit. As of yet, I don't know where I'm being shipped out to.

[ He waves a gloved hand, as if to dismiss the part that some things are obvious. Sure they might be, but does that matter? ]
It's always good to check out the points that you'd like to know about, though.
no subject
[Trying to reign in his frustration over here.]
If I'm going to go back to the frontlines, I'd like to at least be somewhat prepared. Does yours ever hide anything from you?
no subject
[ normally, Shouma would just get the information himself. But alas. ]
I know the feeling. Hmm, definitely. The only point I know about the place they want to eventually send me to is that the only plants there are there are killer plants. And I'm sort of tired of those.
no subject
[Huh. Not quite what he was expecting.]
Well, if that's the most of it, can't be all bad...
no subject
[ So he has a lot of experience in the field. ]
Really?
no subject
Well, not that I would know. nothing like that where I come from. Er, is it really that hard to take down? Nothing a bit of fire would do?
