Muse heard of Ground Zeroes

Gaming… Has changed.

It's no longer about gameplay, plot or replay value. It's an endless series of DLCs, bought and experienced by mundanes. Gaming, and its consumption of money, has become a well-oiled machine.

Gaming has changed. DLC-trained mundanes play DLC-divided stories, buy DLC-exclusive gears. Ideas implanted within their minds enhance and regulate their desire to buy. Gaming control. DRM control. Fandom control. Player control. Everything is monitored and kept under control.

Gaming has changed. The age of complete games has become the age of split games. All in the name of averting catastrophe from the cost of next-generation gaming. And he who controls video games, wins the console war.

Gaming has changed. When the mundanes are under total control, DLCs... Become routine.

Best if read in Ron Perlman's voice.

TELL ME ABOUT IT. EVEN THOUGH I HAD THE MOST HP IN THE GAME, I WAS STILL ONLY PART OF THE BATTLE ARENA. I THOUGHT I'D BE TRAPPED IN DIGITAL LIMBO FOREVER!

You got that right.

[Vergil has been disillusioned with the change in the gaming industry since he saw the reboot of his own series. He holds nothing against the people that choose to play from it, but the fact that it's where the "future of gaming" is headed has him more than just a little disgruntled about the whole thing.]

DLC? I'm not sure I quite follow what you're saying. Video games are quite new though, right? [There was Pong and some other pretty cool titles out there. Not that he had time to play any.]
