Scouting. Exploration. Helping rebuild a world that came within a hair's breadth of total destruction. As I understand it, there is much work to be done in the coming weeks.

[She's also escorting a child to safety at present, but any lover of Volgin's doesn't need to know about her soft spot for children. Civilian refugee children, in this case.]

A creature called the "World-Eater" was devouring worlds -- all worlds. Not just the Havens, but our world and many others like it. It came close to succeeding, but in one final desperate battle, a group of warriors were able to defeat it. Now those left behind have been left to pick up the pieces. It was at that point I arrived.

[It might sound unbelievable, but when you've seen as much as the Boss has, it becomes more and more difficult to surprise her.]

So I'm learning very quickly. They have a strange concept of what amounts to "fun", toying with the lives of others like this.

They like it when you're scared and uncomfortable and lost. It makes them see 'different parts of your character' or something. [She sounds pretty disgusted.]

If that was her aim, my mun failed. She ought to know better than that.

[The Boss is about as easy to scare or make uncomfortable as screaming at a brick wall. Which is to say, not at all.]

Hmm... You make a good point. It is a mundane's job to pick up on weaknesses in character that others might miss. Whether she chooses to act on that, however, is another matter.

She will. Like I said, it's not fun enough for them otherwise, if you're always strong. The stronger you are, the more they want to see what might drag you down to fear and desperation.

I don't fear whatever challenges will come my way. But for a child like you... your mundane shouldn't abuse their power over you.
