63ed!BBC-Sherlock, on the selection of her name.
Guinevere - yes, I think so. Certainly better than Shaelyn. And there isn't any particular reason I should be saddled with a name identical to my 'famous' male counterpart. In my world, he is less than irrelevant: he doesn't exist.
Also, a more feminine name should save me an enormous amount of disbelieving stares and tedious explanation whenever I arrive on a crime scene. I endure enough of those already.
So Guinevere it is. Although God help whoever insists on calling me 'Guin.'

And living to tell about it, at least.

Anyway, who'd even be doing that? I'm not about to nickname you. I like my internal organs right where they are.

Oh, Jesus, Anderson would, wouldn't he? Might be justifiable evisceration in that case.
[She can even hear him sneering it: what've you got for us now, Gwinnie?]

[Obviously a joke. Mostly a joke.]

[Also mostly a joke.]

[Yes, a 1.7 meter tall Block Man is now talking to you... And his question is one of pure wonder, he's not got a clue why'd it could offend one bit.]

Diminutives are at best patronizing and at worst insulting. My name is three syllables, and they don't take that long to pronounce.

Ah... That does make sence. But also we've got to deal with the fact that to the Mun's they're typing so they enjoy using less letters and stuff.

I don't imagine it would change a thing about your approach.

Besides my approach always depends on the client in question.

My mundane is still sorting it out.

I'll let you decide whether that is for better or worse.

[As though that'll stop her.]
Has it occurred to you I might not have found your tactics as distracting as he did?

Oh, but I'm having fun imagining the games that you and I could play together.

[A beat.]
Well, I say useful; mostly just entertaining on slow days.
['I'm looking for Mr Hol-' 'You've found her. It wasn't the brother, no matter what you think. Now, tell me the story as you know it, concisely.']
