Do you know what you're doing, exactly? From what I can tell, you make a lot of emotional decisions which you later regret. Are you sure this isn't an emotional reaction to how my... story ended? Or maybe you have some sort of ulterior motive. You could torment me for some sort of personal catharsis.

Maybe I'm being unfair. I've been developing some trust issues lately. Still. The fact is, you don't know very much about who I am and what I do. You don't know very much about being a Marine or a detective or a man or, hell, even living in California in the 40's. Do you really want to tackle this?

Or are you going to get scared?

I think that's meant to be my purpose in all of this, not that I would ever come out and ask something like that, I mean, how do you ask someone "Am I here just to make your hostages feel more at home or something?" because that just sounds awful and probably puts people in a socially uncomfortable position and uncomfortable kidnappers are probably dangerous kidnappers, not that I have much experience in that sort of thing or anything.
