Oh, now this is interesting. Not unexpected though. Nothing in this world is unexpected. Do you expect me to sit? Heel? Beg, even? I suspect you'll be waiting some time for that I'm afraid.

Don't worry though. These are just the kinds of games I can play.

[Sherlock just stands there, staring at the man.]

What do you want now?

I merely wish to acquire more assets. There's nothing you can do about it. What's to be done now?

And what do you plan to do with your... assets?

[Sherlock's not having any of this. If he has to kill Magnussen in this incarnation, he will.]

[ Smiles. ]

What I do with all my assets. You know I'm merely a business man. A good business man does not reveal his hand all at once.

[Sherlock chuckles, amused.]

The thing is, in this place? It's the opposite.

[They're the assets here.]

[Just smiles some more.]

Oh I suppose I will just have to take your word for that? I know how these places run, don't think you can sit there and feel you know better.

[Sherlock shrugs, calmly.]

[Just reaches forwards to brush some dust from Sherlock's shoulder. He's feeling like a Cheshire Cat right now, all smiles.]

[Sherlock just watches that hand in a "Why are you touching me?" sort of way.]

Quite. Sure.

Well then you have nothing to worry about, be happy. You can go now, I'm finished talking to you.

That's not how it works here...

[Well, it could be, but Sherlock won't let it be.]

Oh but it is. You can spam as much as you want to, Sherlock. But I am not required by any kind of reason to reply, or even listen.

[Sherlock smirks.]

Only because I want to. I love seeing you try to spin your circles around me.

[Pauses, pulls some tissue out of a pocket. Wipes his nose then attempts to put it in Sherlock's pocket.]

[Sherlock allows it, only because - yay something to experiment on later.]

I don't try. I often succeed.

[Just gives a mock bow and walks off, hands in his pockets and looking like it's going to be the best of days.]

[Sherlock just watches as he turns to leave. But he's smiling too. Because he has the hanky and is plotting all sorts of experiments to run.]

[As much as Sherlock might despise the man, there's a certain smugness mixed in with his distaste.]

I would point out the flaw in your premise, but you're bound to work it out on your own.

[And won't that be a delightful moment to observe.]

Oh I already have. I do love how you all bite so quickly. It is never boring.

[Prompting. Either ask him or admit it, Magnussen.]

You really thought I would say something without thinking it through. I am very disappointed in that, Sherlock. You ought to know better by now. Now, hold out your hand. Palm up.

[Just smiling.]

[That gets a 'please' look. What leverage could you possibly have on him in this place?]

It doesn't matter what you do. Or don't do. Nobody's waiting for you to beg -- you'll do what they like. That's just the way it works.

[Seemingly delighted with this reaction.]

Oh yes, very good. I like it. Though if you weren't so concerned, you would not be here, talking to me right now.

[He's been waiting for the Sherlock brigade to turn up. Magnussen casually pockets his hands, blinking and pulling out a sandwich wrapper from one. Oh right, he's had breakfast. Charles looks around for a second before just dropping it to the ground, lightly kicking it to one side.]

[Sherlock's eyes -- only his eyes -- lower, to watch the bit of detritus get kicked away.]

Oh, I think there's more options than those two.

[Janine isn't going to say anything but it's clear that she's not exactly happy to see that face. Obviously Magnussen has information over her and her family, information that she thought had gone to the grave with him but it seems around here people coming back from the dead is a common thing.

Oh and she's also not amused by that username. Those flicks to the face hurt, dammit]

[Just smiles and walks over, as if he's seen an old friend. When Charles is right next to Janine he takes a hand out of his pocket, bringing it up and.....rubbing the side of his nose before walking off.

[Baxter wasn't even sure why he was coming to talk to a human he didn't recognize. Perhaps it had something to do with his confidence, but either way Charles would have a rather odd humanoid standing before him and would likely be wondering how a creature without a mouth could talk normally.]

I don't think you fully understand your situation here or were you expecting to meet creatures other than humans?

[Just looks this one up and down. Very interesting, this place just brings out all sorts. If he's bothered, Charles isn't showing it, smile still across his face.]

I only expected a certain group. Anything else is an added bonus.

[The calm reaction wasn't exactly what he expected.]

I did expect some curiosity. I know my situation, even among my kind, is unique enough to draw out a few questions.

The fact you simply accepted what has been presented in front of you as if it were mundane suggests one of a few possibilities.

And yes, I am looking good for that. It is amazing what people can do when they have the option of choosing where to bring others from. Useful too.
