Voice testing!
While it is commendable that you took the initiative, I'm hoping there was a valid reason behind it, girl. I'm sure you know already how I've begun to idle in the mundane swill of flowing time... I won't sit by in your mind when I could do so in the comfort of my own home, at my own leisure. [Now that it's finally empty and quiet again.]
The fact that you took until this very moment to introduce me here is not at all reassuring. ...I am not a fan of laziness.
[What does Mihawk mean? Well, to those that don't speak his language - he's not at all unimpressed with being created, he could care less if he's made or not (and by whom, for that matter), but if it's just on a fleeting whim, he's not going to enjoy it. He's bored enough on the Grand Line, not doing anything in some idiot's head isn't exactly his idea of a good time.]
Be done with it already - staring vapidly at your glowing metal box will help with nothing.

[ Her own mun liked her a lot to stay in her character and not go on a rapid mad dash of shipping and whatnot for her own sake. Not like Ai didn't want this! She just appreciated that sh didn't do such a thing. Ai wouldn't be able to do much about it, but it was a relief that she didn't? Huh. She didn't know either - did she care? Very much so. ]

Her like of me is not my concern. [In more ways than one.] The girl lacks confidence.
no subject
She must have enough confidence to make you. [ Or did this prove she had none? ] No need to be so dense.

A noteworthy action, I will admit. If this girl has anything worthwhile going for her, it is her capacity to take action. [As lazy as she seems, she can at least take matters into her hands when she's had enough, and that is something he enjoys. Resolve, initiative, boldness. People that don't act don't grow.] And to learn.
[Said as if the past two years of his life have been spent teaching a complete idiot and disgrace.
Oh, wait.]

Then you must respect her on some level!
[ A concerned frown replaces her smile, and she had many friends that feigned ignorance for their own safety. But like they say; ignorance is bliss. But Air wasn't the one to believe such unclassy quotes. ] I mean, c'mon! You won't be having such a great conversation with me without her.

[There, he fixed it for you. Mihawk respects perhaps a seldom few. Most of which are now dead and gone. The new generation is horrendous - unskilled imbeciles with no style, no drive, and no true ambition. Respect is not something a man of Mihawk's status readily gives away, nor is it easy to earn from him. It takes tireless work...and even then one may garner the most minute shred of it in the end.
Aaand he's not going to say anything to that last comment there, just raise a brow and stare in silence. ...Whatever you say, little girl.]

[ But the looks of him, he tolerated her as well. He probably "tolerated" a lot of people he encountered here, but that didn't make much of any difference to Ai, as long if he wasn't looming over her and threatening to chop her into little bites and eat them, then she'd hang around. That's what her gut told her - or was it her mun? Hmm... ]
Aww, don't go quiet now! I'm only playing!

I'm afraid the girl will not be looking to place me for some time. With the lack of confidence she has in my sudden creation, as well as her time restraints due to her current occupation, she will be putting off her involvement in a game until then. ...Any adventures I am to have will need to wait.

And now that the weird event is over you won't have to worry about accidentally kissing anyone. [though he still thinks that's fun and doesn't understand why everyone else has a problem]

An unrefined blade in the hands of a novice is dangerous to the handler and to those around it. A mistake made cannot be removed, nor taken back, even if one learns from it. [Are you following him, Luffy? No? Oh well.] The girl wishes to develop and sharpen her skills first, before accepting a challenge. Whether or not I am delivered to where you dwell now, Straw Hat, when she is ready is up to fate and chance.
...Though it's peculiar that you're adamant on having me there. I had thought my trying to remove your limbs at the Marine headquarters would have opened your eyes to the dangers of having me as your enemy.

[boooo.]
But yosh, you'll come when you're ready. [since he's already decided you're going to come with him no matter what. At Hawky's second statement he folds his arms behind his head and shrugs]
It's okay. I don't mind. Anyway you'd have to get through Zoro and he's a lot stronger now. [glances over] Thanks for taking care of him by the way.

[Mihawk looks so put upon, even if his expression doesn't change much more than a relaxation of his muscles some. He's way too old for this, and in no mood to argue his case with a child. She can believe whatever she likes, it's none of his concern what she wants to think or if it's right or wrong in her head. She's free to think whatever pleases her, even if it's completely incorrect. Whatever keeps her quiet is what matters.]
I believe I've long outgrown games.

[Then again coming from this hobo-looking person, that kind of advice could be taken with a grain of salt... or two.]

Laziness achieves nothing. [Does he really have to spell it out for you? Gross.] But if one has nothing to achieve, then so be it for one to whittle away their life staring at air.

[His mind went back to Tonjin, the old man whose longhorse he had helped one day. Did he seek anything but happiness for his family? A meal every day? That wasn't a bad life- he wished he could have helped more people achieve such blessings.]
Maah. But I suppose that's the kind of thinking powerful men can never truly understand.
no subject
So the marine is right - he doesn't understand, nor want to.]
It is not my strength that makes the thought of doing and achieving nothing unappealing. I'm bored enough being the greatest at my skill, living a life without even wanting to aim for greater purpose is...confounding. [Everyone wants to be better at something, everyone desires more than what they have - it's just human nature. They could be content, but people will always, always, desire more. The truly strong ones are those that try to attain those desires.] And I would prefer not to understand, if if means living a life with even a speck of excitement.
no subject
I’d argue your strength is a bigger component of it than you want to admit, buuut then we’d be here all day. Besides… arguing takes too much effort.
[Half serious, half meant in jest. Not that Mihawk is much of a straight man- he will probably just ignore the little dig and change the subject. But one must still try, it’s hard to get your entertainment from Smoker alone.]
no subject
[It makes no difference to him. So, if this conversation is over, Mihawk's's going to end it at that and calmly be on his way. He's had his time out in the open, his mun's gotten some minor practice with him, and now he's tired of entertaining the masses. Mihawk wants to enjoy a decent rest until the woman's ready to shoo him off into this ridiculous place again for more voice practice.
Until then though, he's done.]
no subject
I heard you've taken on a disciple. A common acquaintance of ours, rumor says.
no subject
But fine, Mihawk will entertain this conversation for a moment longer...just to set the records straight.]
Disciple? You can't possibly mean that disgrace Roronoa. [Seriously, man, you have no idea what Mihawk had to put up with for two years.]
no subject
Disgrace would be one word... I met him, once. Quite the headstrong sort. Not who I'd imagine your type to be.
no subject
Mihawk's been impressed by Zoro's determination and spirit - he has the resolve to be great - but he's still so far from his destination. The only thing Zoro has going for him is his willingness to learn, and the capacity to be able to do so with minimal effort. For as much as Mihawk complain about Zoro, there's no one else who's surprised him more.]
Mm...
[And that's about the only "answer" Mihawk gives on the matter. He has his own thoughts and opinions, but he'll keep them to himself. He's not about to go reminiscing about his time spent with Roronoa and the whiny Ghost Girl. The sooner he forgets about that white noise and eases back into the peace and quiet of his normal life, the better.]
