Applying to Crux_Fleet
You're sending me to a space colony?
[He seems a bit surprised to find out about this. He's spent how long in that tiny village called Luceti now...? Getting to go to somewhere that's a bit closer to the technology level he's used to wasn't exactly something he expected, but it wasn't unwelcome either.]
I guess it'll be a nice change of pace. It's been a while since I've seen space.

Familiar territory, huh? It's nice to know that you're headed somewhere better than the enclosure, but...
[with the way she trailed off, it's obvious where her primary concern lies.]
no subject
But it'll be something I'm used to. [He pauses, guessing where she's going with this.] But..?
no subject
[He grinned broadly at the news.]
I'm a bit jealous here. Congrats!
no subject
[That grin is matched on Fayt's own face. It wouldn't be home, but it'd be something a bit less rustic than Elicoor or Luceti at least.]
no subject
[With these muns, sometimes that was the only thing that counted.]
no subject
[A shrug. He was in no real hurry, but his mun did have a habit of working in small spurts on these apps.]
no subject
...Actually, I sorta wish I was joining you. I like the town alright, but it's a little small.
no subject
[And Fayt was used to living planet side.]
no subject
[He shook his head.]
My girl will figure it all out when she get's there, so I'm not too worried 'bout it. Just...sheesh. Waiting's hard.
no subject
From what I hear there's probably going to be some excitement to be had, so if you do decide to come along you'll probably enjoy yourself.
no subject
Really? Well, that just gives me more reason to wanna get there now.
no subject
no subject
Are they at least trying to get along with the natives while they're doing this?
[He had a hunch that this could be a disaster.]

Though I should say it matters more what you want, shouldn't I?
Who are you, you beautiful soul. Also I am getting back to 4th wall tags soon, sorry for the wait.
[He wouldn't go mentioning to Ameena that the last month had been... interesting. In a rather painful manner. Then again, in a place where you can see someone you know is dead again--] It'll be a bit strange, being in two places at once again, but I'll manage.
haha, don't worry about it!
We're both here, so it can't be that strange.
o7 You are awesome by the way.
And yeah, I guess that's true.
Thanks! I haven't had much practice.
It was good to see you again, Fayt...
<3
Sometimes the people who run the place alter our minds a bit. Sudden impulses, different memories. There are a lot of things like that that happen every once in awhile. Other than that, it's really nice there.
[When she mentions that it was good to see him, he smiles faintly, a little pang of guilt for leaving out the truth stabbing at him.]
It's been good to see you again too, Ameena.
<3
She shakes her head to clear away these thoughts, focusing more on Fayt's reassurance that it was an all right place. ] Are you all right with it, then?
<3
[He was confident in that.] Until then? Aside from the shifts, it's a pretty ok place.
<3 !!
And as long as you're happy and continue forward, that's what matters.

Please excuse late post/lack of icons
[And this Fayt will just be staring at the other version of himself. His Mun had warned him about the possibility of other versions of himself turning up, but it was rather different seeing one in the flesh.]
No problem!
He'd seen a few other 'hims' around here from his Mun's headspace, but so far she'd chosen to keep him in the back whenever they appeared here and let someone else take the reigns for conversation.
Awkward was an understatement for this sort of thing.]
....Uh. Hey.
Thanks :)
…This is really weird. Are you… me?
[Captain obvious.
This was the first time he'd been confronted with anything like this. Well, except for the 'Fabian' who lurked around the headspace with him, but that was different.
Had this other 'him' been through all the same experiences he had? Did he have the same memories? He's watching the other Fayt curiously, not sure what to expect.]
no subject
[This Fayt was wondering the same thing.... and after so long in Luceti, he wondered if it was possible this 'other him' was from an alternate universe.]
Kind of freaky, huh?
no subject
[This one's been in a private muse box for a long time, and right now he's just looking out for cues as to how this Fayt differed from him.]
Yeah, it's like looking in a mirror where the reflection's got a life of it's own.
Or a hologram, I guess.
[If this Fayt did share his experiences, many, many things came into the back of his mind that he wanted to say to him - warnings, acknowledgements, assurances that things would sort themselves out.]
no subject
This is a bit more real than a hologram though, wouldn't you say?
[Fayt would rather not be called something like that, after everything they'd been through. He was wondering the same thing, though, after that particular phrasing-- What had this Fayt gone through? What were his own experiences?
Did he know?]
That's what I think, anyway.
no subject
Well, yeah, definitely. Pretty sure nothing back home's this advanced.
[He shrugged, seeming fairly unfazed by the topic - it was obvious, surely? Anyone could tell the difference between a real person and a hologram, even if technology was advancing down that route.]
Then again, haven't been home in a while now.
[At that point, he did a double-take, noticing the little wings on the other-Fayt's back. Well, there was a difference.]
Wait, are those…wings?
[White wings. Fayt winced a little at that.]
no subject
[Especially considering Albel cut one off a little over two weeks ago. That hadn't been fun at all. Luckily, they grew back good as new within a week, so they showed no signs of the damage at all.
Not without a heck of a lot of pain and being sick as a dog the entire time, of course.]
no subject
[That was definitely an understatement of the highest degree.
Fayt raised an eyebrow as he saw the wings. Yeah, those were definitely real. Too small to do anything with, probably, but real enough.]
Wow…yeah, they don't look like they'd help much.
no subject
They don't really do much, but if you lose them you die, so it's mostly a glaring weak spot. [A shrug. He'd started tucking his wings under his clothes as of late, but he was still getting into the habit of doing it all the time.
But this just reminded him of something he though this 'other him' should know.]
Hey.... what's the last thing you remember? Of home?
no subject
[Fayt sighed. Less advanced, and more problematic, certainly. So this other-Fayt didn't know about the Shadows, or this alternate-Japan… which means he'd probably never met the rest of his group either. He'd not crumbled in the way he had.
He wasn't sure whether to be glad for or envious of the other him for that, but that wasn't to say this other Fayt hadn't had his own struggles of course.]
Wait, you die if your wings are removed? That's insane!
Huh? What I last remember? To be honest, I was about to ask you that…
Albel'd just joined up with us. He drove that katana of his right through my pillow and demanded to know if I hated him. As soon as I said I didn't, he went and stormed off.
[A small, tired smile came into Fayt's face at the memory.]
…How about you?
no subject
Yeah, I remember that. And he's still twitchy as ever about things, too, even in Luceti. But we get off planet alright, don't worry.
[He's avoiding the question, he knows. What was he going to even say? He'd sound like he'd gone crazy if he tried to explain the fourth dimension, about what Luther had tried to do....
It was something you'd have to see to believe. The question he asks next, hopefully, will throw him off.]
Did you ever figure out how to control it?
[The 'it' should be obvious enough.]
no subject
[Albel hadn't changed, then. Somehow… that didn't surprise him at all.]
Heh, he doesn't seem like the sort of guy who'd change easily. He's with you now, then? It feels like it's been forever since I've seen anyone from back home.
[So this other-him had come from his home's future. Even more questions started to come to mind, but for now, the knowledge that they got off-planet okay was enough to reassure him, at least a little bit.]
Thanks…good to know that, at least. Hey, did… you ever find Sophia again? Or Mum and Dad?
[His tone was hesitant. Although the question as to their wellbeing had plagued him for a long time, part of him wasn't sure he wanted to know the answer.
"Did you ever figure out how to control it?"
Fayt flinched at the question, looking away from the other. That glaring sore-spot was something he hated admitting to even his close allies.
Perhaps his tone came out a little more agitated than he intended. The obvious 'no' in the air left unsaid.]
…Did you?
no subject
He'd be lying if he said he didn't think about him still. Luceti shifts making him forget his own parents hadn't helped that much.]
Mom's safe on Roak, last I heard.
[Fayt had come to terms with his power, in Luceti. He knew what he needed to do-- he had to learn, to grow, and find a way to control it. He heard that frustration, and he understood it completely. It was definitely a sore spot for him, too.]
I'm working on it. Might have finally made some headway, but I'm still working on it.
no subject
…Are they alright?
[He was surprised how calmly the other-Fayt spoke about this. After all the times he'd stressed the issue in his mind, after all the problems it had caused and all the arguments he'd had on the subject… it felt strange to talk about it so rationally. The frustration was still there as he replied.]
I've tried but…nothing much seems to be working for me. How've you managed to make progress with it?
no subject
He glances away, not wanting to see the expression he knew he'd see there.]
no subject
His eyes widened as the colour drained from his skin in an instant.]
No…
[And fists suddenly clenched as shock turned to anger.]
No, no that's impossible!!
no subject
no subject
The Vandeeni, again… dammit, they still--!! Dammit!!
[He'd recently lost someone he'd come to see as a parent-figure in the muse box, and that fresh wound was no doubt making his feelings worse.
Of course, it struck him when he saw that expression that this other-Fayt was the one who'd actually seen the event play out. He shouldn't have dragged this out. He tried to force himself to calm down, if just for his other's sake, but the waves of emotions were still raw in his tone.]
…I'm sorry.
no subject
There's always a chance your universe is different from mine. Maybe it won't happen.
[He hoped so. He really hoped so.]
Heading to bed now, I'll reply in the morning :)
Yeah, maybe. Hopefully I can do something that'll stop it. But that wouldn't be fair on you.
[A pause. There was no harm in asking, right?]
…Did you manage to defeat them? The Vandeeni, I mean?
no subject
Yeah, we did. They kept bringing in more and more reinforcements, but Albel showed up and trashed their transport jammer-- he got shot too in the process, but he was alright once we got him medical attention on the Diplo.
[And they wouldn't be a problem ever again, if what he'd heard about the fate of Vendeen was true.]
Loving your Fayt, btw :)
Right now, his actions were far more driven by his own crippling guilt than hope.
There was a slight hesitation before Fayt replied to the question - it surprised him how optimistic, how hopeful this other him sounded.
When had he lost sight of that?]
Yeah…yeah, I think you're right. And hey, maybe there's a chance he'll turn up in a place like this, too.
[At the assurance of the Vandeeni's defeat, an overwhelming sense of relief washed over him.
It was over. They were gone. No one else would be hurt by them like on Elicoor II, or Hyda IV before that.
His voice came out a hoarse whisper.]
…Thank God.
Haha, thanks! You're pretty good yourself.
Part of him wanted to tell him that there was a cruel irony to hearing himself utter the words 'Thank God', when their creator's executioners had been the ones to end the Vendeeni once and for all. When who knew how many planets, Earth included, were in ruin or wiped from existence in his attempt to eliminate 'bugs'.
Going home back to Earth wasn't an option anymore, for more than one reason.]
You never know. I even got to see Ameena around here recently. There's always a chance, in a place like this.
[Instead, he decides to offer a little more consolation.]
Thanks ^^ It's interesting playing off a Fayt who's further in canon/not been through muse box hell
For now, though, even though he was never particularly religious, he saw nothing strange in his own words.]
Wow, that's- This place really can drag anyone here.
…I hope she can find peace here, at least. She deserves it.
[Ameena…He winced slightly, trying to ignore the pang of guilt in his chest.
Although he had been away from home for some time now, the events of Elicoor II still felt a little raw to him, especially after one of his new group unintentionally dragged it out.
"You'll just make things worse, like before!"
He couldn't afford to dwell on that, now.]
So you're heading back into space again?
