So you want to play a game? Sounds good to me. Uh, let's skip the whole "work" part of it, okay? Okay. Glad we had this talk. Now, since you're going out, how about grabbing me a pizza on your way back? A guy can't do much on an empty stomach.

In fairness, being dead tends to put a damper on anyone's choice of style.

I'm sure that if Capcom had kept me around, I would have been every bit as..."stylish" as you are.

[He says as he takes a moment to fully appreciate Dante's new "update".]

...please tell me you aren't actually wearing chaps right now.

Yeah, well, I think we both know who's better looking.

[See? Even Vergil is appreciating his great taste. It's just common knowledge that Dante is the best. He poses, grinning at the last part.]

Okay, I won't tell you. Take it all in for yourself.

I'm glad you've finally come to terms with it.

[He says, quickly turning Dante's words around.

Of course, when Dante starts posing, Vergil stares at him with the single greatest speechless expression before facepalming.]

I don't even know what to do with you anymore.

Where...does one even find red denim?

[He sounds more confounded than impressed.]

[Dante just grins at the retort. So his brother's finally starting to play along, huh? Okay, granted, when he was younger he might have missed some of the humor sometimes, but they were always competitive.]

Generally people go with the whole "wonder and awe" approach, but since you're family, I'll let you get away with just enjoying the show.

[It sounds like he's not even listening, which is a typical answer from Dante, really.]

I have my ways. Like it, huh? I think they fit me pretty good. They hold up better than other stuff, anyway.

[There's a point at which exasperation turns into a genuine level of entertainment, and that point lies somewhere around the moment that "wonder and awe" are mentioned.

The fact that Dante isn't listening at all, and is just in his own world about this, is actually sort of endearing. For the first time in a long time, Vergil cracks a smile, and it isn't long before he laughs despite trying his hardest to remain bothered by it.]

You are hopeless.

[It's clearly not a malicious statement, but rather one of endearment.]

You're a pain in the ass.

[Dante shoots that back without a hitch, although a lot of the old venom he used to have for his brother is gone. Despite the usual quips and carefree attitude he's putting on, Dante has done some growing up.

Part of that is thanks to Vergil himself.]

Some things never change. But, hey, I won't hold that against you too much.

I learned from the best.

[His response is every bit as quick as Dante's had been. Though they're trading insults, Vergil still seems more entertained than outright malicious about any of it.]

I suspect that you wouldn't have it any other way. I can't imagine you enjoying the company of someone that made things too easy for you.

[Vergil has always been one to prefer a challenge, and he knows better than anyone that Dante has a restless streak as well. The company they keep generally is a good reflection of that -- Dante with Lady and Trish, and Vergil with Dante himself.]

Besides, what's the saying? "If it ain't broke"?

Did ya now? That's funny, because I'm pretty sure I'm the best, and you were older'n me.

[Hey, every little bit counts. Don't agonize over the details of that one. Dante grins, because it's been one hell of a long time since he's seen Vergil, and--well, this is better than they used to be. Granted, there was a lot he just didn't get back then. He didn't want to hear it. Vergil too, probably, but... no use dwelling on the past.]

Hah. So you do learn. [Vergil just made a joke. Now that's a good change.]

All right, you got me there. Wouldn't want things to get too boring. What would I do then? Excitement pays the bills. Still, I get the feeling you just like giving me a hard time.
