The additional details to my story are welcome.

The musings on if you could twist it to fit a young adult audience are not. If nothing else, sex and marriage are too intimately tied up in it. And my teenage years are of no interest to anyone.

Perhaps it'll change upon closer inspection. The process of writing down a life... It changes your perspective. I'm speaking from experience, here.

Perhaps. And I have been reminded, my story does start when I'm seventeen. Which is teenager-range in mun's world, I've been informed.

A lot of people's stories begin when they're seventeen, it seems.

It's a good age for stories. You're nominally an adult, but still inexperienced and idealistic enough to get into trouble.

Heartbreaks. Rebellion. Doubts and a hint of chaos. All elements that make for great storytelling.

Not as much fun when you're living it though.

[downplaying]

No. But it prepares you very well for the rest of your life, doesn't it?

I suppose that's a fair point.

Honestly, though - I wouldn't have been without those particular experiences. Pain in any form can teach you a lot. Growing pains, too.

Sometimes, I think it's the only way we learn. Through mistakes and pain.

Stupid system if you ask me.

Mistakes and pain make us want to seek change. Change makes us go forward. Going forward... is what life is all about.

If nothing else, it's better than staying still. But a girl can wish change didn't always have to hurt so much.

So can a man.

I suppose so. But I've always found it polite not to make the assumption that I speak for others.

[downplaying]

Sometimes it's necessary for us to speak on the behalf of others. Not everyone has found their voice.

And some have voices not easily heard by those who need to hear. But I try to present my opinions as only my own. Until I know otherwise.

Interesting advice. Good advice, but interestingly put.

It's a quote by a friend of mine. He is good at distinctions like that.

Is he a writer?

[downplaying]

Yes. A poet. He lives in a country where these kinds of considerations are necessary.

Where people often lie?

[downplaying]

We all have to do things we don't want to sometimes. Lying can be one of those things.
