Sounds like vampires where you come from have a different set of rules than us. Unless you were in a Sabbat city, but even then it wouldn't make a whole lot of sense.

No, not like you. I continue to look like this because of the serum, but those who drink blood tend to look... a bit monstrous. So do I, if I forget to take the serum.

I'll give you the simple version since you'll only run into a few vampires here from similar universes to me. There are different strains of vampirism called clans. My clan is clan Nosferatu. For whatever reason we end up looking mutated after our embrace.

Let's see... I can still eat human food, if it isn't too seasoned or spicy. I'm more athletic, I can see in the dark, I have enhanced strength... I still cast a reflection, unless I get stressed out; stress causes my power to go a bit nuts.

I'm not really from any clan; I was only changed because I would have died otherwise.

Like I said clans are just strains of vampirism. So supposedly I could trace the history of the one who turned me and keep going back until we get to the original Nosferatu. Doesn't mean much though. Sure some of us have more social bonds, but some of the other clans aren't exactly like family to each other.

That story is actually not entirely uncommon. There is even a rule against it and people still do it.

No. We're by all legal definitions dead. You can't undo that. Whatever the embrace does, it's the only thing keeping us running.
