Oh mun, you really do worry too much. I'm quite sure that you will have your painting ready by the deadline, and if not, well, there's always gin and beasting until it stops being such a worry. You just put in that extra time in the studio and I'm sure what you produce will be magnificent, eh?

On which note...this idea of yours about going to a place where...what was it? Oh yes, different ways of suffering every week...well, you know I've as much of a spirit of adventure as any man, thoroughly reknowned for it, and personally I think it's an absolutely fantastic opportunity, but mun, do you honestly think it's a good idea for you? Given how busy you are, I mean. Of course, I'm sure you will do magnificently whatever you do, but you know, you really are under a lot of pressure, I think it might be better all round if we...don't. Of course, I shall be utterly devastated to miss out on it, but I'm willing to make that sacrifice for the sake of your work. 

Just, you know. Think about it, hm?

Very probably, but in this case it's less a case of madness and more one of vainly attempting to keep someone with altogether too much power over me from sodding up my life altogether. I'm willing to crawl a little for that end, I'm not ashamed to admit.

Oh, she's already got ideas. Many, many more than are good for her. Hence this loving reminder to stick to buggering up her own life and leave me alone.

Well, it hasn't done me much good thus far, I'm still terminally short on tin and long on enemies, but hope springs eternal, eh? I can only suggest that it's probably on the back of charm alone that I manage to maintain a mostly unbroken face.

I can sympathise. But at some point you tend to run out of places to run to, and then you have to stand and avoid fighting like a man.

Now that I can't argue with, since I have had the dubious pleasure of falling utterly for several of the finest examples of redheads around. Stubborn as mules, the lot of them. If only I didn't have such a damnable weakness for stubborn women.

Oh really? I've never found it to be too much of a problem. Mind you, if you are having trouble, I always find a trip down to the pleasure gardens with tin in hand works wonders for a man's self esteem, and, ahem, other things. If you know what I mean.
